Great Vacation Stay

Location was very centralized for our itinerary. Kitchen was perfect for cooking and feeding 12 adult men for two weeks. Our host was very accommodating and helpful. Looking forward to coming back in the future!

Anniversary celebration

Family get away

Awesome Place - Great Host!

Our stay included 8x retired military on a guys fishing trip for 10 days (Russian River Reds/Homer Halibut). The cabin was extremely well equipped and had everything we needed and more. Greatly appreciate everything. It was an absolute pleasure meeting you guys!

A slice of paradise in Alaska

We were pleasantly surprised at how wonderful this home and property were. We knew it would be from the photos, but in person it's even better! Perfect for the 7 of us! We loved the location! Had a blast playing badminton, smores by the fire pit and just enjoying the surroundings. The house itself is fabulous, great space, super clean and was perfect for our group. Owners were quick to answer any questions, and very helpful with information. We were so sad to leave. Location is perfect as it's in between Seward & Homer. Thank you so much!

Pleasant Stay for Fishing

The Moose Lodge

We arrived and checked in a little early. Everyone in our family was amazed with the accommodations provided by Jodi and Erik. From the ready to use kitchen to the comfy beds this house, the location and everything about it were just perfect for our 10 day vacation. I would recommend this propety to everyone looking for a quiet, off the beaten path get away. The cow moose and her 2 calves visited often and were a sight for all to see.

Incredible!

The property was beautiful and so clean. It had everything we needed, including some furry friends that live outside! The owners were so sweet and answered any questions immediately. We had 8 adults and 1 toddler stay for a week and it was perfect! Couldn't recommend more!

The most adorable house in Alaska!!!!

We were greeted by welcomed house owners. This house has everything, toys, strollers, DVDs for kids, games. House is gorgeous with so many amenities. Id recommend it to everyone. Loved staying there for 8 days. Thank you so much!!!!!!

Family reunion on the peninsula.

Very nice place with plenty of room. Great kitchen and dining area for entertaining. Beautiful master suite and en-suite bathroom. Upstairs bedroom/ family room was perfect for the kids. Plenty to keep the children occupied and entertained. The swing set was a hit as was the fire pit and making s’mores. Next time we will make plans to go fishing as this is the perfect place for a small or large group to bring back their catch, clean it, store it and cook it. You have the option of cooking and entertaining either indoors or outdoors. Indeed the property owners thought of everything.

Great Experience

We had a great week-long stay here, and everything was perfect! The owners left the most thoughtful welcome gifts and the welcome binder included everything that we needed to know for our stay. We had 3 kids age 3-8 with us, and the outdoor spaces and toys were invaluable. We enjoyed nice evenings on the deck and around the fire pit, and if it was raining, we retreated to the covered area out back and enjoyed the gas fire and yard games. The fishing poles and waders were much appreciated, and the fish cleaning station and large freezer space came in handy. The owners have thought of everything, and we're very responsive to any questions. We would stay again!

Best Vacation Ever

An amazing property with all the appropriate amenities. The owners had great communication, location was easy to find, and my family from the Lower 48 couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else for the summers to come when in Kenai. Thank you to Erik and Jodi for the fishing rods, ambient fire place, clean beds & linens and an amazing stay!

Perfect Set up for a Family get together

We have stayed at a lot of VRBOs in the past. This is by far the best accommodations we have encountered. The Painters family home was able to accommodate a wide variety of ages 68- 10 months old . The house was spotless and offered many additions that made our stay enjoyable even during torrential rains. The pavilion next to the fish cleaning area was a big hit . The creative hook the fish game was enjoyed by all. The large yard with the swingset and fire pit was a favorite of the grandchildren. Cooking was a breeze in the well stocked kitchen. Too many thoughtful details to mention them all . Had a great time hope to return soon !

Beautiful location

Secluded property with a great out door space. The house worked great for our 2 families. The rooms were so insulated and quiet that it made it easy to sleep at night. Lots of great fishing gear to use and a freezer for fish!

So fun!

We had such a great stay!! There is no stone left unturned for family fun! The house is in a great location for fishing during the day and everything you need for family fun at night. We played badminton, cornhole, horseshoes and s’mores by the fire were a hit! The house is very cozy and had everything we needed for our traveling family of 5. (4 adults and an 11 yr old) The beds are super comfortable and the kitchen is just amazing! Jodi went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and settled and it was greatly appreciated! We’d go back anytime!!

We had a blast. We used the house for a weekend base camp. We went to Seward and then checked in and toured Homer. As a resident of Anchorage we visit Soldatna often and this place is amazing! Loved the atmosphere and property! Thank you for sharing your place with us!

Perfection

This property was phenomenal. Great for kids and adults alike. Clean with all the comforts of home. Also great for families who love to cook. Lots of things for kids to do. Awesome fire pit. Can't say enough good about this property and the owner/hosts. They are very welcoming and accomodating.

Best Rental I’ve Ever Stayed At

Clean! Well stocked! Great host! We had a great time, playing games (they had a great selection), making s’mores, enjoying meals on the porch and watching movies in the game room. This home has it all and my family really enjoyed All the special touches. Such an amazing experience!

Happy Hayes Family

The property and owners were absolutely the best I have every encountered. The willingness to accommodate our family constraints went above and beyond what we expected. The home felt like home only better! Thoughtfully appointed functional areas, especially the kitchen, made our stay very comfortable. We are a family of cooks so to have this beautiful kitchen to enjoy was a slice of heaven. We wanted for nothing! Special thanks for the baby items, the playground and play items for the children and special gifts for the family. The continuity binder was amazing. Having that to refer to was very helpful. Absolutely fabulous

By far, the nicest, most well appointed, and comfortable property we've ever stayed at in Alaska. From beginning to end the communication was excellent. Super value for the money. I'm actually not sure if there are enough positive superlatives to describe the experience. Simply superb.

Erik and Jodi Painter

Born and raised in Cooper Landing, Alaska, Erik helped his parents with Painter’s Packers, a horse packing business in the Chugach National Forest. In his teen years Erik worked for a local business eventually becoming a fishing guide on the Kenai River. By 1995, Erik was at work in the Prudhoe Bay oilfield.

Jodi lived in a few different states but found her home in Alaska. Growing up in Oregon as a young girl then moving to Pahrump, NV. as a teen, where she worked in the family restaurant for 7 years. In 1993 she moved to Cooper Landing Alaska.

Erik and Jodi married in 1996 moving from Cooper Landing to Sterling in 2000. This home in Sterling, where they raised 4 boys, became the center of many gatherings for family & friends sharing stories, laughter, delicious meals, and making memories.

After all the wonderful years spent in this home Erik & Jodi are ready to spend their summers back in Cooper Landing leaving this home available for you to enjoy.
