My trip to the Arcadia Mo was to spend three days, two nights, revisiting and exploring the area. I left St. Louis at 10 and arrived at Johnson Shut-ins by noon. I spent 3 hours enjoying the cool waters in the special typography of the Shut-Ins. Then I drove down to Annapolis to VRBO #1293676. This is just what I wanted. A small cabin, in the woods but within a short distance to a small town, quiet and new and comfortable. It was great for one person and would be for a couple or a small family with one or two young children. The inside of the cabin was very well done. It was clean and comfortable. The Wi-Fi, internet and TV, worked very well and had all the appliances needed. Justin was a wonderful host. I look forward to returning and experiencing the change and growth of his cabins.
This is a great home base to explore Arcadia Valley. There are many beautiful, and unique, places to spend a morning, an afternoon or early evening. Annapolis is 20 miles north of Clearwater Lake and four miles away from the Black River and campgrounds. 20 miles south of Ironton area, and three very unique Missouri State Parks: Johnson Shut-Ins, Elephant Rocks, Taum Suak Mountain and The Battle of Pilot Knob State Historic Site. The area is beautiful, unique, inexpensive and puts you in the midst of some of the best natural gems of the Mid-West.
