If you're looking for a family cabin retreat, you've found it. We had a dream stay as a family of four with an in-law. The kids had a great time in a comfortable yet rustic setting. The hosts could not have been more responsive, but everything is set up to be very self-service. The fireplace (and firepit) could have been cleaned before we arrived, but there was plenty of wood and clear instructions. Everything about the stay reinforced that this is a family home, not just a rental company providing you the bare minimum. And when we left an item there, they went above and beyond to get it back to us. Wonderful property. Thanks!

A perfect set-up for a two-family skiing vacation, especially with the kids dorm area where they could escape the boring adults. The hosts were very good at communicating and we really enjoyed our stay there. Will definitely consider going back again next year.

Great Location for Family Trip

We very much enjoyed our trip to the Berkshires. The homeowners were great to work with and very responsive and the house was close to town and the ski mountains. I recommend the house for families.

Weekend Trip

It was an amazing stay. There was plenty of space for all ten of us and the house was beautiful. We had a great time grilling and enjoying the fire pit outside. Overall it was a great stay and we cant wait to come back again.

Wonderful Berkshires Weekend

My wife and I and some family members stayed at this lovely house for a nice weekend in the Berkshires. The house was clean and cozy and in a beautiful secluded setting. It was a wonderful stay and we’d certainly come back again.

The home was comfy and spotless. The open area was perfect to prepare meals while socializing and enjoying the fire. Access to hiking trails was very convenient without having to drive. Excellent communication with the host. Cannot think of any suggestions to improve the stay. It was perfect.

Amazing Thanksgiving Get Away

This was a fantastic cozy home my and my sister's family enjoyed for several days over Thanksgiving. The kitchen was nicely equipped, the fireplace well used, and everything was very comfortable. The kid's room slept our 5 older teens/younger 20s quite well and everyone had a fabulous time.

Family getaway

Our family of 5 adults enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend at this private getaway home. Ben made sure we had everything we needed and the house was nicely equipped and very private. Proximity to Great Barrington was perfect and there were some great hikes nearby for all levels of ability. We appreciated the thorough house guide and checkout instructions.

Wonderful vacation home - highly recommended

We had a wonderful week long stay in this terrific home. The house is modern and yet charming, and every bit as nice as the pictures with great lighting and comfortable chairs and beds. The deck has a wonderful few of a meadow in front of the house and was a great place for grilling and eating outside. The owners were a delight to work with and accommodating hosts. We enjoyed hiking in the woods around the home and in several nearby parks, and Great Barrington is a short drive away. Overall, we have rented many times from HomeAway/VRBO and this home was one of the most delightful.

A Favorite in Fall

I have stayed at this house many times over the winter with my family who loves to ski. This was my first time renting here in the fall with a group of adult women, all sisters-in-law, who came to unwind and relax. This home was every bit as wonderful in the Fall as it is in the spring. We took advantage of local hiking, local shopping and local dining. Returning to a cozy, well appointed, clean, comfortable house was the cherry on top of our weekend stay.

Great stay; lovely house for 7 of us; young adults and family!

We, two families with young adult children loved staying in this house over Indig. People's Weekend. The house was extremely clean, comfortable, beautiful with a "rustic vibe", roomy for the 7 of us, well equipped. We were able to hang out, play games, cook a meal and also travel 25 min's drive to Great Barrington, Southfield, and other locales for hikes, great restaurants and generally a great Fall weekend. Great, responsive communication with the hosts. We would love to return!

Wonderful place

Couldn't have been happier. It's remote, but that's part of the charm. Dirt road to the property. 15 min. drive to shopping. Everything in the house was comfortable, in working order. Bed was comfortable, towels luxurious. Kitchen was well-stocked with staples. Loved being able to hike w/o having to drive somewhere.

Great stay for 2 families near Butternut Ski area for mid-winter break

This is a lovely home. Very secluded, yet close to town and Butternut ski area. We had 2 families of 4 with kids aged 4-7 - they loved having their own space in the upstairs kids room, while the adults enjoyed the kitchen opening into the living area with large open fireplace, and smaller family room off the kitchen for movie watching. The owners have thought of everything, and communication was great. Hiking trails start literally steps from the front door to explore frozen ponds, the fish hatchery, and all the secluded natural beauty that surrounds this home.

Eureka!

The house is beautiful, incredibly comfortable, thoroughly and thoughtfully stocked (from kitchen to bathrooms, game cabinet, bedrooms and utility room) and in exquisite shape. We visited with our adult son and his wife and two young children, and ended up feeling that the house was designed with a family like ours in mind. The dorm-style Kids’ bedroom is a master stroke. We can’t wait to return.

We purchased the property jointly with our daughter and son-in-law, who wanted easy access to Ski Butternut where their two kids were in the racing program. They asked us if we wanted to go in on a place with them and we began looking at properties together. We fell in love with the house at first sight. The setting was spectacular, the layout worked beautifully as a multi-generational retreat, and it was the perfect ski chalet base just minutes from the Butternut slopes.

Our initial plan was to rent regularly, but after one successful guest stay in 2018, we decided we loved spending time there so much that we wanted it for ourselves!

After the 2020-21 ski season, our kids decided that their oldest child, who is showing great promise as a racer, had outgrown the program at Butternut. We agreed to buy them out of their share of the home, and we decided once again to offer it as a rental. We love hosting and are excited about the opportunity to share our very special home with other families and couples.
