After midnight, my daughter and I were awoken by a man aggressively pounding on the front door asking me to open it because he said he was “assaulted.” I did not open the door, but I told him I’d call 911. As I looked through the window, I saw the man, and he didn’t appear assaulted. In fact he actually had his own cell phone and was talking calmly to someone saying I wouldn’t open the door. My daughter called 911 again and asked them to come quickly! I called the homeowner (Tim), and he used his A/V porch camera to talk to the man. The man eventually left the porch, but we didn’t know where he went. After a 3rd call to 911, we finally got a police officer to come to the house (45 minutes later!) and escort us out to our car. We were very shook and scared by the man wanting in the house. We left and went to a nice hotel provided to us by the homeowner for that night. Thanks Tim. We were told the stranger at the door incident had never happened before. It was quite an oddity, and we did not return to the house for the rest of our vacation. The homeowner was gracious and refunded our rental fees. Tim was great to work with.
