Overall we thought the setup you have has a lot of potential but there are some items worth mention. Firstly, and this is no surprise I’m sure, the place is hot and humid. For some reason it’s very hard indeed to get a through draft in the property. In some cases with all windows open the house was a good 10 degrees warmer than the outside. It’s hard, even with the fans, to get the outside air in. the house can be oppressively warm in the day, and with the moistness of air in the woods it’s very humid too. If it had not been cool in the evenings (down in the 70’s) we would have had horrendous nights. As it was they were still “Sticky and warm” but tolerable.
Additionally, as cute and vintage as the fridge is (it goes nicely with the oven), we experienced the same issue experienced by your last reviewers, and frankly it’s odd to me that you wouldn’t fix the issue with a replacement fridge. A basic one like the one you have is less than $500 and would probably save you a few hundred on electric bills. I appreciate the iced down cooler solution, but you might want to look to the long term on that too.
Finally - for me personally - the king bed in the upstairs room (with the en suite) is one of the wobbliest beds I’ve slept on in years. I would suggest some sturdier rails to hold the headboard still, or better - attach the headboard to the wall and let the bed free-stand. Every slight movement in the bed is exaggerated by the rocking of the headboard and transmitted to the other person. We woke each other up all night long.
It was a three star experience which would easily be four or five-star without these challenges
You equipped the place nicely - the towels and fire pit were a nice touch, and the place is huge! Great for large families and groups. The swimming spot at the beach a short walk or drive away was really nice. The water was crystal clear and warm.
Communication from you was excellent too. Thanks for being so available and responsive.
