We had a wonderful time. The cottage was perfect for our family and doggo. Kim left us a very detailed manual and a great list of best spots to hit in Bala. We went to a bunch of farmer's markets, swam every day, and enjoyed some great food. Thanks for everything, we were all sad to leave, which is the best way to leave a cottage, because you know you had a great time.

Great location

Space was decent as described and had everything you needed. Cleaning fee should have included everything or clearly stated what it includes - we were responsible to wash all towels and strip down the beds/ pillows which should have been included in the cleaning fee you’re paying for. Overall, it’s a great place in a great location.

The Place was fabulous, the view spectacular

I’ve worked very hard for years”being an excellent host and renter”, to have an excellent reputation at any place. We arrived at the place and it was filthy, we cleaned all weekend to set the record straight. The cleaner should put down the pipe before she gives criticism. No harm no foul. I wish everyone the best. VRBO deleted. Peace love. Jimboro

Ideal location and what a view!

As much as I want to mention all the beautiful things to do and see in the area, I will stick to just talking about the cottage - our stay was Oct 10 - 13. The cottage was easy to get to and easy to get in thanks to all the information Kim, the owner, gave us ahead of time. The photos are accurate accept that Kim informed us, 10 days before our arrival, that the bunkbeds had been removed, leaving only 2 queen beds. Our adult daughter, who would've slept on one of the bunks, ended up not coming with us, so the removal of the beds did not, fortunately, affect us. My son had to work, remotely, while with us and he appreciated the large bedroom with table setup on one side of the house. Internet was fast and easy access. My husband and I enjoyed waking up in the morning and viewing the lake (Moon River), from our bedroom by just sitting up in bed. The cottage has many windows allowing for great views however the beautiful treed property wonderfully isolated the neighbours from view. The cottage has a smooth stone walkway down to the large, sturdy dock from where I have my best memory - coffee in hand, early morning mist rising on glass like water, sun peeking over dark clouds allowing enough light to give a mirrored reflection of the amazing tree and rock lined shore onto the still water. The cottage was well stocked with cleaning supplies, kitchen staples, towels etc. Beds and bedding were very comfortable. Kim was very responsive to questions. I highly recommend this rental

Perfect for Us

The location was perfect. The away cottage feel but within walking distance of the many things Bala has to offer. We enjoyed all the property and area had to offer.

bala vacation!

Ceballo retreat was a beautiful property located on the moon river. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to see the lovely outdoor area with a barbeque outdoor fridge and separate sleeping quarters. The kitchen was nicely stocked with all of the essentials which made packing for the trip very easy. There were lots of towels and blankets to make everything cosy and feel like home. Kim checked in with us periodically throughout to see if we needed anything which was much appreciated. Would stay again!

Fabulous cottage in Bala!

This is a beautiful cottage both inside and out! The photos shown are very accurate of the various rooms and their sizes. It's quiet, comfortable, and well laid out. The two bedrooms are located on either side of the main room of the cottage which provides great soundproofing for sleeping. Over the years we have rented many times from VRBO, and this cottage was by far the cleanest we have ever seen, and the easiest for check-in and check-out. We really loved and appreciated the owners method of having the cottage fully equipped with all of the basic necessities and then you replace them if used. Access to the water was fantastic! Many lovely days were spent on the dock, in the water, and out exploring in the kayaks. This was a true holiday as proximity to Bala was fabulous with an easy 15 minute walk to everything, meaning we didn't have to touch our cars for a week. If there is anything we wished we could add ... it would be to divide the super large bedroom into two bedrooms so that more friends and family could enjoy this wonderful place. We would definitely recommend this cottage, and we hope to return soon!

Great place!

The place is even more beautiful in person. Close walk to downtown to grab coffees, etc and beautiful waterfront. The kayaks were perfect and I love this lake - you get to be in Muskoka without the business of the big lakes! Easy and fast communication with the owners. Will definitely book here again :)!

We love this area. It's a quieter part of Muskoka with gorgeous views and friendly neighbours. Easy access to town for festivals or just a walk to get ice cream!

ABOUT THE COTTAGE:

Ketchup, mustard, oil, coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper, butter, coffee filters#4, baggies (big and small), saran wrap, wax paper, foil, paper towels, J cloths, sponges, gloves, dish soap, garbage bags, recycle bags, green bin bags.

A nice feature of this cottage is the 2 distinct wings for the bedrooms, separated by a breezeway, both with their own bathroom and entrances to both the back of the cottage and the water. While communal areas are great for time together, the adjacent sleeping areas allow for quiet and privacy.
