Amazing stay

We had an amazing stay in Tartane! Sylvie and Chris were wonderful hosts – warm, welcoming, and always happy to share their tips about the area. The location is perfect, just a very short walk from a great surf spot. The house was peaceful, surrounded by nature, and we really appreciated the relaxed atmosphere. Tartane is a little gem, and thanks to Sylvie and Chris, we felt right at home. We’ll definitely be back!

A perfect spot

This is a lovely place, picturesque and surrounded by flowers and greenery in a great location cery close to the beach. The hosts are truly wonderful people, easy to deal with and quick to respond. Everything exceeded my expectations, and I will definitely stay here again on a future trip. Highly recommend.

A tropical paradise!

The location is probably the best in Martinique. Close to nature and all the things you need. You can listen to the waves and all the tropical sounds in the night. The house is perfectly equipped and designed for a relaxed stay. You can feel that Sylvie loves the place! We spent three wonderful weeks there with our children (all in all 6 person). The children loved the pool. We hope to come back!

Wonderful and memorable

We had a wonderful stay at the studio. Sylvie and Christopher are very generous and discret. The location is excellent to acces the national park and the trails. We have access to a shared pool with the owners. The location is also very interesting to acces the "surf beach" a few steps down the street. The only thing was that I was confused when I reserved. I red it was a 3/2.5 house. In the reveiw, you can red that some people had acces to the room upstairs. It is not the case anymore. The location is a well equiped but small studio with a kitchenette.

Martinique Profunde!

We loved our stay in this Presqu'ile de la Caravelle property, newly renovated and private. We called it our "home at the end of the world," way out on a peninsula far from the busier tourist destinations in Martinique. One of the Caribbean's great surfing beaches is a few minutes' walk downhill, and good hiking trails just up the road. Sylvie and Christopher could not have been more gracious hosts--they were attentive and friendly without being intrusive, and had some good ideas on local restaurants and places to visit. The property itself is impeccably clean and well-appointed, with a unique loft master bedroom up a ladder-stair (not for the infirm or over-served). But this place is really all about the expansive outdoor spaces--a large dining table, living area, hammocks and pool--where we spent all our time. Be aware that you are not in a densely-populated resort area--it's a healthy drive on twisty roads to visit these places. But if you are looking to get away from it all in a place of natural beauty, this is the property for you.

Superb vacation all around!

If you are considering visiting Martinique, look no further! Our family of five just returned from an absolutely wonderful vacation. Sylvie and Christopher were friendly and welcoming, had great advice, and were just a pleasure. Rue du Surf is a charming beachside community, very safe, with plenty of happy surfers. Their home is beautiful - updated kitchen, well maintained, private back yard with a pool and colorful landscaping and just a very comfortable place to relax and enjoy. There are two bedrooms on the main floor (queen and one with two twins) and a master suite with a king size bed and it’s own bathroom upstairs with brilliant ocean views. It is the best location to Tartan’s well known surfing beach - less than 100 yards before you touch the water, with a surf shop three doors down that offers lessons. We were also pleasantly surprised to hear that the property abuts a national park, with a delightful network of trails including one to a lighthouse with breathtaking views. When you visit, be sure to rent a car. Once at the house, outdoor activities can all be reached by foot but a car is needed for shopping and there is a dedicated parking space. If you have never visited Martinique, the roads are better than many areas of mainland US - much better than other Caribbean islands. Hope this review persuades you to consider a visit, send our new friends in Martinique a warm bon jour, and have a wonderful stay!

L’emplacement pour les amateurs de nature et de surf que nous sommes étaient plus que parfait. Beau studio où il fait bon y séjourner et que dire de ses hôtes si chaleureux et avenants. Séjour en couple

Nous avons passé un super séjour dans ce logement. Il est très bien équipé et très agréable. Nous avons particulièrement aimé la terrasse avec un jardin tropicale. Le logement est très bien situé pour les surfeurs, à quelques mètres d’un très bon spot. Les propriétaires sont très sympathiques et nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour.

Séjour à Tartane

Très agréable séjour sur la presqu'île et dans notre logement à Tartane. Lieu authentique en pleine nature. Propriétaires très accueillants et sympathiques. Plage à deux pas, très tranquille et bercé par l'océan. Village à quelques kms aussi très bien avec plusieurs restaurants, une station essence et sa superette pratique pour les courses qui manquent et une boutique cadeaux souvenirs aussi très bien. Ravis de notre séjour!

Super séjour!

On a passé un super séjour chez Sylvie!L’appartement est fonctionnel, idéal en famille et au pied de l’anse Bonneville pour les surfeurs!! La terrasse donne sur un petit jardin plein d’oiseaux et de plantes!!Enfin Sylvie et Christopher sont super accueillants!! Merci beaucoup!!

Un petit coin de quiétude et de paradis

Wonderful

Absolutely loved staying here for a week. Did a solo vacation to somewhere I’ve never been. Sylvie was so incredibly kind and helpful, she gave so many tips about where to hike, eat and visit. The studio was so close to the beach it was nice to get to walk down and spend time on the sand or relax in the backyard area. The location was central to all the activities Martinique has to offer. I would love to come back again in the future to explore more. The lighthouse and cove are must visit spots very close to the house.

Joli chalet en bois bien organisé bien situé

Excellent accueil de Sylvie - logement parfaitement propre et vaste pour un couple-à proximité immédiate de la plage des surfeurs et proche du départ des randonnées dans le parc naturel. La voiture reste indispensable notamment pour les courses.

On a tout apprécié: le lieu - surtout la grande terrasse! Les filles se sont bien amusées dans la piscine. Le bruit des vagues comme son de fond. Beaucoup de rangement, espace bien organisé. Des bons conseils pour les activités. On espère revenir!

Christopher started traveling to Martinique to surf in 1978 and eventually met Sylvie, a local surfer girl, and they later married. They built the house of their dreams on the beach with the best surf break on the island and raised two beautiful children there. This surfing family now shares their time between Florida and Martinique, enjoying the best of two worlds. Now they are offering a bit of their beautiful home to you for your enjoyment as a vacation rental.

A great place for someone who wants to get away from it all and on a beach where you can surf, hike, and enjoy nature. For us those were the main reasons we bought our lot here and built in 1994. We could come home from work and feel we were on vacation ALL THE TIME!!!!
For a different vacation destination this is the place. The winter surf season in Martinique is great and has spots for all levels.

Is boasts a beautiful beach just steps from the front door and is on the border of the island's largest national park.
