We stay here every year to get away from the hustle and bustle. It’s a great place the whole family to unwind. No neighbors and just peace a quiet.

Had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property. I celebrated my 40th with my sisters and a couple close friends and it was the perfect size for our needs. Wish we would’ve booked a longer stay, definitely next time!

We very much enjoyed our stay. we were visiting friends nearby and everything was perfect for our needs. Comfortable, quiet, and in the middle of a cornfield. The host was super easy to communicate with and let us check in early. Highly recomend.

Relaxing country home

Always a relaxing event to stay at whispering pines. This country home is set up to give visitors a clean, comfortable cozy stay. Loved the local cafes and restaurants.

Little Yellow House

We love staying at the “little yellow house” when we come to Balsam Lake for an annual family reunion. The accommodations are perfect for our needs and the personal, homey touches are greatly appreciated.

Little yellow house

We enjoyed our stay over the weekend. The host (Brenda) was very sweet and showed us around. This house is very kid friendly with lots of games and puzzles. We will definitely be coming back to rent the little yellow house.

Balsam Lake Winterfest Getaway

Property was very clean, organized & cozy. I loved the laminated helpful notes throughout the home. Location was easy to get to town for events as well. Would definitely stay here again :)

Everything you need for a great time

One of the best things is the yard. We played wiffleball and frisbee with lots of room to spare. The patio is protected from the westerly breeze and if you are looking for the breeze just pull a chair out 15 feet and enjoy the breeze and the fabulous view of the lake. A great place to relax and also a short distance to family activities if you are not into biking or kayaking, fishing and swimming.

Wedding reception for friend

We were here for wedding reception for son of college friend. The house is cozy, clean, near lake, nice kitchen, living room with fireplace & couches and the bed was comfortable. VERY satisfied.

The little yellow house

This is our second stay at the little yellow house as my granddaughter calls it and we again found it perfect for our needs. Lots of little homey touches and the perfect location close to my sister’s lake home for our family reunion.

A quiet, cozy house.

We enjoyed our stay at this cute farmhouse, which reminded me of our childhood living in northern Wisconsin. The house was clean, and had everything we needed for this get together. We watched deer, visited local wineries, played games, made a trip to Stillwater, and still had down time to talk and catch up on each other's lives.

Cute, clean little farmhouse

This place has pretty much everything's you need for a little get away. Easy access to a lake for kayaking and a little park nearby. It’s 20 minutes to St Croix falls if you want to do some hiking. Comfortable beds with plenty of blankets and fans in each room. Highly recommend!

Very relaxing

It is a very clean and enjoyable place to unwind. We were able to watch the deer in the fields while drinking our coffee in the morning and while winding down before bed.

Great weekend away!

This place is a beautiful oasis in the country! The check in process was seamless and Brenda was a wonderful host. The house had a beautiful open lawn, wide open skies, and a space filled with thoughtful amenities. The beach was steps away and we had the best time. Thank you for the great weekend!

Ideal Cottage
