The retro decor took me back to my childhood, it had an older electric stove that cooked food perfectly, and the kitchen offered modern conveniences , too.
It was hot in the closed up cottage when we arrived, but put the fans in the window and it pulls in the breeze. At night it really cools down and slept comfortably with the windows closed. The pictures on VRBO weren't updated before staying ,so I was pleasantly surprised to find a huge comfy couch and love seat, as well as the lazy boy (which I claimed as my reading chair.) Next time I'll bring my roku as we could only get Grit tv and a couple more channels. We only needed that the 1 evening it rained as we were too busy exploring the rest of the time!
In Marquette I found King Koin laundromat and left my washing to enjoy local coffee shops and bookstores. So I really didn't miss a washer/dryer.
The water pipes get air in them, so you get a little shower in the kitchen sink. But I was on vacation, so I just laughed.
The beach and lake were beautiful! When the fire died down we enjoyed the star show! The local residents and workers were kind and friendly and we were close to so many things to do. I hope to come back.
