An attractive apartment with everything you could wish for

In the mountains of Alsace lies this great apartment with everything on it. Everything has been thought of. Incredibly hospitable host and hostess. Good tips to explore the area and even in the village a good family restaurant with local dishes. Highly recommended.

Nice place in a cosy town

My travel plan was to both Colmar and Strasboug, this place is somewhere in between, the host is very nice to talk to and helpful. The flat is very nice, clean and cosy, because I drive an EV, there's a charging point next to the flat, you can use charge-point card to top up your range.

Beautiful and peaceful

What a charming location to spend our time. We couldn't have been happier. The apartment is even more beautiful than the photos. The location in a quiet village is serene and relaxing with beautiful views from every window. We loved the gazebo in the garden and spent lots of time there too. True there are no shops in La Vancelle, but two very good restaurants, one with a Michelin star. There are shops just a short drive away in another village. The location is a short drive to the wine route and we enjoyed visiting the nearby town of Selestat. We were most impressed by the organization and thoughtfulness of the owners. They seem to have thought of everything. Their attention to detail is amazing. They were not in residence during our stay but called to make sure everything was in order. All the information we needed was in a folder in the living room, so we had no additional questions. The large bathtub was wonderful to relax away the days hiking and there was plenty of hot water too. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will definitely return.

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in der schönen Unterkunft sehr genossen und würden diese jederzeit wieder wählen. Der Vermieter ist sehr hilfsbereit und steht einem mit Tipps und Hilfe zur Seite.

Wonderful Michelin star restaurant 100m away. Good boulangerie and small supermarket in next village short drive away.

Beautiful location and apartment

This is a lovely apartment above the home of the owners, Jean-Paul and Martine. It is about 900 sq. ft, quite large! For someone who wants a little escape to the mountains it is absolutely perfect and in the morning the sun rises just out your window and you can see the castle on the hill. Beautiful!

Idéal pour se ressourcer

C'est dans une belle maison bleue accrochée à la colline (comme dit la chanson) que nous avons découvert cet appartement de toute beauté. Les matériaux choisis pour la décoration donne l'ambiance d'un chalet à Megève. Tout est fait avec goût et soin. L'appartement est grand, propre et très fonctionnel. Les lits sont confortables et le système des alcôves dans la pièce principale, bien pensé. C'est un havre de paix qui nous ferait presque oublier que nous sommes venus pour prendre l'air, marcher et visiter les environs. On s'y sent comme chez soi. La maison est entourée de beaux jardins et de forêts. Les amoureux de la nature sont comblés en venant ici. Idéal pour se ressourcer. Je vous le recommande.

The Mountain Hiker is part of our family collection of 16 holiday apartments. We are a couple of retired tourism professionals having many years of experience in the airline industry and travels.
We think that - especially for a rather long stay (most of our guests are discovering the slow travel concept and are staying 7 nights and more) - it is not enough to sleep well during the night but it is necessary to enjoy the stay in a place which is somehow of the same level as the historical surroundings, the landscape, the mountain and the vineyards: beautiful. We put a lot of effort and care in the renovation and decoration of our vacation apartments because we want our holiday homes to be a memorable part of your travel experience to France.

The place is quite outstanding.
The Mountain Hiker apartment is part of a beautiful building of 1929. It was completely refurbished with organic materials, beautifully furnished and decorated. You will enjoy a fantastic mountain panorama and a garden where to sit and even have a meal outside.

La Vancelle is a small Alsatian mountain village, nestled on the southern slope of a mountain arch that rises to about 855 meters.
Only a wise eye can see the village from the valley. Hidden in a beautiful forest, it is a haven of peace and nature. And yet it is easily accessible and ideally located, away from the crowds but just minutes from the wine route, the wine villages and the major tourist attractions.
2 good restaurants just within short walking distance. Shops 2,5 kilometers.
