One of the most accurately described properties we've stayed. Attentive hosts and everything you need within 20 minutes drive. Saw lots of deer in the property too.

Lovely and peaceful

Tanya and Brad were excellent hosts -- very considerate and helpful. The space is large and very comfortable; the tub (and the towels) are also luxurious. We'd definitely stay again.

Lovely Guesthouse

We had a wonderful stay. The guesthouse was delightful and our host was very friendly and a great source for area information and recommendations. We also share a profession and enjoyed some "shop talk". We would definitely rate our stay very highly.

Busy Fall weekend, so many facilities booked/overbooked. Location is not too far from Rhinebeck, about 8 min drive. Tucked away in wooded area, night time was perfectly quiet.

Lovely cottage in the woods!

A charming fully-equipped small cottage perfect for a few nights in the lush wooded area of Staatsberg, ten minutes from charming Rhinebeck. Hosts were wonderfully attentive and informative, and the frig was stocked with water, etc! Warmly recommend.

Peaceful Getaway

My husband and I came up for a half marathon in the area. The guesthouse was the perfect location, it was close to family and offered peace and quiet. The woods behind the house were a nice back drop to our morning coffee and breakfast. The location was secluded. Brad and Tanya were very communicative hosts, offering meal and entertainment suggestions if we needed them. Will definitely book again the next time we are in the area.

Beautiful, quiet location near lots of fun things

Tanya was very welcoming and helpful and keeps the home very clean and comfortable. Location is near many fun recreational activities and restaurants. We loved our stay!

Restful getaway !!

The guesthouse is cozy and welcoming - perfect for some quality time with your loved one. We had a great weekend and Brad and Tanya's restaurant and cafe recommendations were spot on. Would love to visit again :)

Great location, great stay

Very convenient to Rhinebeck, Red Hook, etc and just off of Rte 9 but still very quiet and private. The hosts were wonderful and very helpful during check-in. They truly made sure I had everything I needed. The guest house is well furnished and very comfortable. I’d definitely stay here again next time I’m in the area!

great holiday weekend in Rhinebeck

Tanya and Brad are great hosts and were completely available and responsive. The location is unsurpassed and the large open studio space was very comfortable, private, and exceptionally quiet. We hope to return next year.

Perfect accommodations for my weekend workshop at Omega. The easy commute was around 15 minutes. wonderful friendly hosts that were helpful and informative. Quiet and comfortable.

Overpriced for the quality

The owners are very friendly and communicative so the check in was very smooth. However, the quality of the place was not up to price charged. The couch was old, dirty with holes in spots. The walls were also dirty in many places which could easily be remedied by a new coat of paint. A simple thing like the towels in the kitchen being old with some stains, again, very easy to fix. There were no rugs in the whole space which makes it not possible to use the floor for stretching or yoga or anything that requires floor space. One very good thing was the comfort of the bed - a definite must for a rental. The owner mentioned getting a bigger TV but my suggestion is they focus on the basics of cleanliness and updating very simple things that make a huge difference in presenting quality and care of a space. It was ok - why a 3 - but I would not book again.

Weekend at Omega Institute

My husband and I spent the weekend at a workshop at Omega Institute and stayed off campus. The apartment is about 10 minutes from Omega, above a 3 car garage, in the tree-tops off a long winding road. Tanya and Brad are a very friendly, down to earth couple who sincerely try to make you feel at home. Located behind the main house, the space is large - very clean and private. We loved the King sized bed and comfy bedding - the tub looked terrific although we didn't get a chance to use it. Perhaps a little up-keep could be applied to the shower but other than that the space was very comfortable (and water pressure was great). If you know upstate New York and your expectations are realistic (bring bug spray!), I think you'll be pleased. We had a lovely weekend and we're happy to find off-campus accommodations more suited to us and more affordable than what Omega offers.

Not as advertised

This property’s entire exterior, the owner’s home and the cottage behind it, were poorly maintained, with worn stairs, deck, outdoor furniture, and umbrella. The door to the entrance was dented and partially rusted and in need of care. The inside of the house was somewhat clean, which is the only reason we stayed the two days. The furniture was worn out and really, the entire place was in need of serious TLC. The dishwasher was disconnected, the linen closet was stuffed, haphazardly, with winter quilts, an ironing board and iron. Quite frankly, the pictures included in the posting were not an accurate depiction of the property, as they led us to believe that we would be in a much more populated area, with water features, wildlife, and pillars leading to a resort type building. We are travelers, well versed in VRBO properties, both in the US and in Europe. None of us have ever had an experience in which the pictures and the description provided were so misleading. We are still puzzled by the glowing reviews!

Almost perfect, peaceful retreat.

This haven during this pandemic was a welcome retreat for a nurse and paramedic. We were thrilled to be able to enjoy a few days off in a peaceful natural setting like this light filled private apartment with a porch, kitchen and all neccessities needed to a lovely stay. Tanya replied back to us immediately and check in was easy . She even offered to get us milk before we arrived and supplied plenty of water and seltzer coffee and sugar and teas. Just a few hiccups that prevented a five star rating. More instructions on TV and internet should be provided . Out side cushions and chairs need some updating and power wash. Bathroom shower needs some recaulking. And lastly some outdoor flowers would add to retreat feel. Just adding these things and this adorable apartment in a perfect location will never have a vacancy and I will have to book again soon or I will be sorry. Thank you again for giving us a much needed break. Stay safe everyone.

A Great Retreat To Relax!

This is a very spacious studio apartment. The kitchen is well-stocked for 2 people, The king-sized bed is incredibly comfortable. The bathroom is also quite large with a working jacuzzi and shower. There is a large furnished deck where you can sit outside enjoy nature, read and eat. 2 lounge chairs and table for 2. If you want to leave the relaxing apartment there is so much to do in the area. You are minutes from the Staatsburg Park where the Mills Mansion is. The grounds are expansive and I think the mansion's backyard to the Hudson is almost a mile. There are many hiking trails, parks, and wineries in the area. Hyde Park is close by. In Rhinebeck, there are a several good restaurants to try if you are not cooking in the apartment kitchen. Nearby were a few tennis courts in excellent shape. If there is a problem the host, Tanya, takes care of it asap. She is also very attentive to your needs without ever being intrusive. Cannot understate how helpful she is. Overall, we were very pleased with the apartment as well as Tanya's suggestions, and we plan to return later this year.

Terrific host! Great location! Quiet and peaceful!

Tanya is a charming host who is responsive and helpful. Her guest house is roomy and the bed is very comfortable. The large and bright bathroom makes it pleasant to get ready for the day. The shower is hot and the water pressure is terrific, but the shower could use a refresh. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the setting, all while being close to the attractions of the area.

We have area State Parks all within walking distance to the Dinsmore Golf Course, Norrie Point Marina, Mills Mansion leading to the shore of the Hudson River with beautiful Catskill Mountain views, and the Hopeland trails. Reservoir Road is a historic stone lined road, with views of the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains receiving sun until sunset. We are close to many local farms selling fresh produce.
