We definitely enjoyed the week we spent in the small but cosy holiday accommodation in Nogarolo, Tarzo, and all the things we did there, such as the visits to mediaeval places like Asolo and Portobuffole, but also Treviso, Conegliano, Vittorio Veneto andthe nearby Lake Santa Crocce, surrounded by the spectacular mountains of the Bellunesian Dolomites.
Those interested in architecture should not miss visiting the famous villas Barbaro and Emo planned by the famous Renaissance master architect Palladio, both of which are in easy reach. On the way there, it is a must to stop at one ofthe many wineries along the "Strada del Prosecco" around Valdobbiadene and taste the delicious and wonderfully light D.O.C.G. beverage, e.g. at Angelo Bortolin's in Guia di Valdobbiadene.
Directly in Nogarola, we can only recommend anyone who wants to eat something else than pizza to try both Locanda Cordirosso and particularly Ca' Piadera (agriturismo), which overlooks the picturesque vineyards of the area, for their excellent home-made meals, service and atmosphere.
Santa Maria, a small lake in the neighbouring village of the same name, is a nice and quiet place to go swimming and sunbathing.
All the people we encountered during our holiday in this place were very friendly and helpful despite the language barriers which sometimes occured. 😉
Thanks a lot, Sonia and Anna, for your kindness and any effort to make us feel like home! We felt looked after absolutely well and would come back any time.
