Artistic, Cool & Comfy Cabin Rental in Joshua Tree

Green Acres Ranch is more than a cozy place to stay...it is a work of art surprising its happy guests with beauty and creativity.

The ranch has two cabins separated by 100', and is on acres of clean and sparse Mojave Desert land. Several lounging areas, hammocks, and fire pits help you soak up the sun, the stars, a good book or a glass of wine (It's rumored that a bottle has greeted a guest or two).

For those who love wildlife, our mature trees and other plant life attract a host of twittering birds and scurrying critters: quail, doves, friendly bats, and roadrunners to name a few. Ravens often nest in the large Tamarisk trees at the front gate, raising new hatchlings each year.

We're located less than a mile away from the boundary of Joshua Tree National Park, and our convenient location near the 62 Highway provides easy access to all nearby locations without sacrificing a sense of peaceful seclusion. Daily excursions may include Joshua Tree National Park (West entrance less than ten minutes away), East Mojave Scenic National Area, Big Morongo Wildlife Preserve, Palm Springs, the Coachella Valley, Big Bear Mountain, Twentynine Palms, Pioneer Town, or Giant Rock.

Fun Time

Property was unique & perfect! It wasn’t broken down or brand new but just right! You could spend hours just checking out all the different items in the house & outdoors. The place was clean along with everything you needed. Highly recommend

Lots of Character, Clean and Comfortable

We purposely booked Cactus Flower because we wanted to stay in a place with character and it didn't disappoint. It was fun to explore the property looking for fun and artistic touches. We'd like to go back when the weather is more amenable to enjoy the outdoor amenities but indoors was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

We absolutely love staying at Green Acres. The location is perfect, the cabins are completely charming and comfortable, the park is within walking distance, the scenery is amazing. Could not recommend more.

Fun and funky desert property

We came here after a few days' camping in Joshua Tree. Lots of private outdoor spaces as well as a comfortable little house. We especially enjoyed cooling down in the outdoor shower. Highly recommended!

Always a perfect stay

We have stayed at this magical property several times over the years and it never disappoints. Just a very special place in general. Great location, perfect size for a couple, and ample outdoor space that makes you feel like you're a million miles away from everything, even though you are close to many creature comforts. I hope we can continue to visit for years and years to come!

Great for responsible dog owners

Really enjoyed being able to bring our well behaved and housebroken dog on the trip while also being able to see the national park. There’s a dog friendly Desert View Conservation Area right up the road which is great for hiking with the pup. Spent half the day hiking there with the dog and the other half in the park while doggie stayed behind.

The Best in J-Tree!

We have stayed at this cabin several times and it is consistently our favorite in the area! Love all the little touches - bottle of wine at check-in, paint and brushes to decorate rocks, etc. We love the firepit and stargazing at night! Such a magical and special property and the owners are so communicative and welcoming. Hope this stays a rental for years to come so we can keep coming back!

A perfect spot for rest and recuperation!

We had a fantastic time during our stay. Everything was beautiful, the place was immaculate and we couldn't ask for better amenities. The dogs loved running around and sniffing everything (mind the cactus!) and we loved relaxing in hammocks under the stars. Just a few minutes away from all the stores you might need, but back from the road and secluded. This was exactly what we needed to relax, thank you so much!

Another great visit to Green Acres Ranch

We always look forward to visiting Joshua Tree and, of course, staying at our favorite place - Cactus Flower. The hosts, Albert and Sandra, always friendly and welcoming and the accommodations are always inviting and clean. Everything is as stated in the property description- and there have been some up upgrades here and there to keep things new. We always have a little contest to guess what’s new. We love the place and look forward to more visits in future.

Fabulous

This was my second visit to the property for my annual renewal retreat to Joshua Tree. The cabin has all. the creature comforts and a lot of charm. It is quiet and secure and a great place to unwind and relax. The hosts make sure everything is just right and provide a wonderful welcoming experience.

Proximity with Privacy

The property was located well for checking out Joshua Tree National Park, Yucca Valley, 29 Palms, and Joshua Tree (town). Just as funky as I would expect. I appreciated taking my morning coffee while walking the labyrinth. Perfect for a couple getting away for a weekend or a week. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfast at home and the location gave plenty of options to eat dinner out.

Beautiful

Our stay here was just perfect - it was a beautiful way to celebrate our marriage and the new year. The place is even better than it looks in pictures. Funky Desert Oasis!

Such a really cool place! The house is groovy, visually interesting, and the perfect size for a couple. It’s filled with natural light during the daytime and so peaceful and quiet at night, except for the occasional coyote howls!! We loved exploring the grounds and are definitely curious about visiting again when the weather is warm enough to use the fire pit and other outdoor amenities. Thanks to Sandra and Albert for sharing this amazing space with us!

Perfect Get-a-way!

I recently stayed at this adorable property and fell in love with it. There are so many little fun details to discover with the decor. As a photographer this property provided the perfect backdrop to long exposure shots of the moon rise. I had everything I needed and felt very much at home. Albert was a delight! I will be back again and again when I head to the desert for a little rock climbing. :-)

Delightful!

We loved this place and hope to return. Fascinating vintage/arty decor indoors and out. Thoughtfully furnished, with a comfy bed and totally functional kitchen. Plenty of places to sit outdoors. The owners were available by text and made sure we had everything we needed. The property is not easy to find using map apps; be sure to read the directions.

Peaceful Desert Retreat

My husband and I very much enjoyed our Thanksgiving at the Cactus Flower. The house was nice and cozy despite the 30 degree temperature outside. We were conveniently located less than 10 minutes from the National Park, which allowed us to get there before everyone else in the morning- especially helpful during a holiday weekend! The Cactus Flower was very aesthetically pleasing and looked even more charming than the pictures. We had a nice romantic weekend and we recommend this place to couples looking for a quiet getaway with amazing stargazing.

"The tactful cactus by your window Surveys the prairie of your room But the key to the city Is in the sun that pins the branches to the sky". who says it better than Bowie?! This place is so comfy and it's close to all JT has to offer in restaurants, shops, & park access, with amazing space and serenity all around you. it has a great hammock for watching the sunsets and stars. Super well-maintained, private and accommodating. i'm now back to the madness of the city, but it's changed me somehow. thank you.

Thoughtfulness in every detail!

Truly a pleasure, both inside and out. Artistic and whimsical, but also clean and thoughtfully equipped. Loved the various art sculptures spread here and there around the property. Even the documentation about the place was great, including detailed directions for using the wood-burning stove, and for operating the rather cryptic electronics setup. I was here midweek in February. Mid 70s during the day and quite cool in the evenings, so the wood stove was put to good use. Joshua Tree Natl Park is nice, but I was happy to just hang here and relax. Thank you!

Relaxing B-DAY Weekend!

I had reservations for another rental and was cancelled due to a wild fire close by. I frantically searched for another rental location as I was looking forward to a relaxing BDAY weekend. I was so pleased when I came across Green Acres Ranch. Sandra was awesome as she answered all my questions and made the last minute reservation so easy (thanks?)). I couldn't have asked for a better bday getaway. My partner and I relaxed, lounged, and enjoyed the desert life. This place was perfect inside and out. I absolutely loved the vibrant eccentric decor and all the amenities included. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed for homemade meals. This is by far our favorite home away from home! Thank you so much for making this place extra special.

AMAZING!!!

My husband and I booked the Cactus Flower last minute for a weekend getaway and could not be more pleased that we did! Albert was so fast in responding and was so nice and explanatory and easy to contact! We brought our two little dogs and were so happy to be greeted by Dingo, Albert's super sweet lovable dog. The decor was classic desert eclectic and so much fun. Everything was so well thought out that we didn't need to ask for a thing. He even brought us apple pie from town, which was so thoughtful and hospitable! I am very familiar with Joshua Tree and used to own a home here so I know what is a good location and this is a great location, easy to get to right off the highway and right by the park. We will definitely return (hopefully sooner rather than later). I cannot recommend this place enough! Thanks Albert and Dingo too!

Like home

We can’t say enough good things. This place was cozy. We loved all of the decorations and style. The outside was also decorated with beautiful bottle art. When the sun came up it hit the bottle art and it just lit up. When we arrived we found a bottle of wine and a friendly wave hello. We used the kitchen several times due to the restaurant’s being closed on some of the days. At night it was fairly quiet with very little road noise. I was so excited one morning to see a roadrunner (we don’t have those in MD). One day it was extremely windy and the owner was very helpful with suggestions since we couldn’t hike much. It’s location is perfect for Joshua Tree NP. I could probably come up with several more things that I liked about the place but you’ll just have to book it and find out for yourself. Thanks for the great stay to the owners. PS don’t make the mistake that I did assuming the restaurants and stores are open all of the time. He’s sure to check the times and days they are open so you can plan better than I did.
