Charming gîte for 2 or 4 in the forest beside the lake, 8km from the ocean

This 65m2 former traditional Landes terraced house, renovated into a comfortable gîte, will welcome you to its exceptional, typically Landes setting and immerse you in the soothing, woodland atmosphere of the private grounds of a two-hundred-year-old manor house (classified Natura 2000). The proximity of the lake and beaches (8 km, accessible by road and cycle path) will allow you to enjoy many sunny days.

Ideal for a couple, two extra people can sleep in the sofa bed. The house has been decorated by your hosts Emmanuelle, who will welcome you, and Jean-Marie, an antique dealer, who has decorated the gîte with his own collection.

For a romantic stay, in the very heart of a forest estate, the two terraces to the east and west will allow you to enjoy the forest on one side, and the Darricau lane and its dovecote that Sir Winston Churchill came to paint.

Amenities include a kitchen opening onto a dining room, a bedroom with a double bed (140x190), a lounge with access to the terrace facing the forest, a shower room with a walk-in shower and separate WC.
The accommodation is equipped with a television, WIFI, washing machine, dishwasher and multifunction microwave oven.

Shaded parking for all types of vehicles.
The house is close to cycle paths and a family equestrian centre (at the entrance to the estate). Various water sports are also available at the lake.

There is a bakery in the village of Aureilhan, and the town of Mimizan, just 3 km away, has all the shops you need, including a hypermarket, restaurants and bars, food shops, a health centre, etc.

You'll be delighted by the comfort of the house and the beauty of the surroundings, for a relaxing, peaceful stay.

Please note that the property is guarded and hunting is therefore prohibited. You may prefer to observe or photograph our beloved wildlife: roe deer, foxes, squirrels, wild boar, pheasants, owls, spotted dogfish, woodpeckers, etc.

Pets are welcome.

Fantastic place to stay and great location

We had a wonderful few days spent here as a family, ranging in ages from 18 months to mid 70's and our Labrador dog. The house has just been refurbished and has underfloor heating, it was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We made use of the gas BBQ and sun loungers to the rear of the house that are completely surrounded by a wood, which was lovely to sit and listen to the birds on a warm evening. The house is located down a very peaceful, gated private lane, situated in a wood on the side of Étang d'Aureilhan lake. The beach is only a ten minute drive away, and there are also purpose built bike routes through the Pine forests to the beach, away from the main roads. There is another beach we found Plage de Lespecier, which is about 10 minutes south of Mimizan that's unspoilt, beautiful. They are some very good restaurants- in particular Restaurant Ô Courant which served excellent food. And a great little pizza takeaway called Il Gatto Verde pizzas, in the middle of Mimizan town. Jose was very helpful and accommodating during our stay and we would definitely recommend a stay at this family home. Thank you Jose, for a wonderful holiday!

Endroit très calme dans une propriété avec sa forêt pour se balader, le gîte est propre et fonctionnel. Nous avons passé 15 jours agréable, une très bonne adresse.

Maison près de la forêt

Cette maison est située à deux pas d'une grande forêt. Idéal pour promener notre chien ! La maison est bien agencée, les chambres avec assez de rangement, la salle de bain avec grande douche. La cuisine a tout ce qu'il faut pour faire à manger. Seul bémol, la télévision n'a pas fonctionné de tout notre séjour.... La maison est mitoyenne avec une maison avec des locataires à l'année. Des gens charmants, discrets et ayant deux chats. La terrasse pourrait être modernisée (parasol et table qui ont vu des jours meilleurs). Un super séjour au calme et nous avons même pu voir un chevreuil et deux lièvres à 10 mètres de la maison !

Super séjour dans la nature

Nous recherchions une location au calme, proche de la nature et non loin de l'océan pour profiter de notre court séjour et nous aurions difficilement pu trouvé mieux. Le gîte a du être rénové il y a peu de temps car tout semble neuf. Nous avons apprécié pouvoir profiter du magnifique parc, surtout pour les longues ballades matinales avec les chiens et de croiser quelques cervidés à quelques pas de la maison. Je n'ose imaginer comment cela doit être magique en automne!! Merci beaucoup à Clémence d'avoir accepté si facilement nos 2 chiens. Cela n'est pas toujours facile de pouvoir partir avec nos poilus mais c'est grâce à des gens comme vous que nous pouvons partager des supers moments de vacances avec eux, et dans un cadre idyllique! Merci aussi pour votre souplesse alors que nous avions fait une réservation très tardive, quasiment 48h avant le début du séjour. Si nos pas nous ramènent vers Aureihlan, nous prendrons grand plaisir à venir à nouveau séjourner dans votre maison. A bientôt ! Johana & Patrice

Séjour parfait en pleine nature

Le gîte est situé dans un parc de 60 ha, au calme à 15 minutes du lac à pied et une dizaine de kilomètres des plages (piste cyclable). Entièrement refait à l'intérieur, très bien équipé, petite terrasse sur l'arrière vue sur la forêt. Parfait pour se ressourcer !

A nice place to stay

We have been there in August 2017 and it was wonderful. The place is in the middle of an old oak forest, it is quiet and not too hot. Our son loved the fast internet and we loved the area and the short distance to the ocean. Everything could be managed by bike. The caretaker ist a nice guy, he lives in the house next to us and is very relaxed and easy. perhaps we will meet again! full recommandation!

Erholsamer Urlaub in landschaftlicher Idylle

Mit 2 Erwachsenen und 2 Kindern haben wir einen absolut erholsamen Urlaub in der gîte verbracht. Die Unterkunft, ein 200 Jahre altes Haus, ist in 2016 neu ausgebaut worden. Einige alte Elemente wurden stilvoll erhalten. Das Objekt ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet und auf einem 70 ha großen Waldgrundstück gelegen. Natur und Ruhe pur! Das Bad mit ebenerdiger Dusche ist, obwohl kein Foto abgebildet, sauber und großzügig geschnitten. Der Vermieter ist freundlich, zuverlässig und hat alle Zusagen verbindlichst eingehalten. Der ansässige Hausmeister war stets sehr hilfsbereit. Die Umgebung bietet viele Möglichkeiten für jeden Geschmack: Wassersport am nahgelegenen See, die Nähe zum Meer, Wandern, Fahrradfahren, Reiten.....Die boulangerie ist fußläufig und der l'eclerc in wenigen Fahrminuten erreichbar..Wir kommen wieder!!!
