Great location!

Great location & good access to the chain of lakes!We were so very excited for this rental and the easy access to the beach and lake; but, unfortunately, we found goose poop all over the yard and dock. Then spent time cleaning the dock of the goose poop so we could use it right away. Also, we had to clean the beach and swimming area from some of the weeds to make it somewhat usable. We did rent a pontoon which gave us more options for swimming out further in the lake. We did make a request to the host/management company about the goose poop and they did send someone out to clean the dock and yard for each day of our stay thereafter. The common area was perfect to gather together. The number of bedrooms and beds were great, although some of the beds were not as comfortable. The kitchen was large and had good seating for meals and playing cards, but did not have enough kitchen supplies. So glad we brought our own cast iron pans, skillets, Dutch oven, sheet pans and mixing bowls as the options stocked were very lacking. Could use more non plastic prep, mixing & serving bowls as well as more sturdy tongs and spatulas. We enjoyed our stay, but were definitely disappointed in the lack of upkeep for the high price paid per night. It would’ve been even better had the property been more updated and maintained for us to relax and enjoy.

Great place

Pros:Good views for sunsetsEasy access for our Boats and Wave RunnersLarge well-maintained yard for young kids and yard games.Nice and plentiful towels for the bathrooms.The space is great for large family gatherings with beds galore and 4 bathrooms and 2 refrigerators.Easy access from the house to the water is great for young and old alike.Sunsets are great from the dock or a short ride out into Scattering Rice Lake. Great to be on the chain, and it is at a dead end, thus reducing boat traffic.The house has a functional grill outside and nice furniture around the fireplace and deck.Kitchen and dining areas are great for large groups to gather for food and games.Air conditioning is good with the first floor getting cold.Cons:The kitchen could use a couple more washcloths and trash bags.We had to ask for coffee mugs, change the refrigerator filter and a hose for outdoors. The property manager did supply more cups and a hose. Thank you.The porch screens have not been replaced or repaired since we were here three years ago.The warped wood floors are worse than when we were here last.The rugs in the kitchen need to go before someone gets hurt. They are old and curled and the glue pads were not holding (We found turning the rugs upside-down helped).One upstairs shower leaked out onto the floor and outside into the hall, soaked the floor and carpet leaked into the bathroom below (The property manager was told the shower-door glides were installed backwards, as wa

Nice house with improvements needed

We stayed here with a group of 13 in July 2025. The house is spacious and has some great gathering spots which was great for our large group. We were most excited about being right on the lake and being able to swim/get some sun on the shoreline. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the state of the beach at this house. The yard and shoreline was littered with goose poop and the beach was full of washed up weeds that clearly hadn't been cleaned up in several weeks. The water itself near the shore was also extremely weedy and needed attention. Luckily, we rented a pontoon so we cold drive out and float. If we didn't have that, we wouldn't have been able to use the lake as the shore and swimming area were basically unusable. When we checked in, several of the girls found old items in their rooms - one person had a pair of dried contacts and a used sanitary liner from a swimsuit on her nightstand and another had a used chewing tobacco package in her room. The beds were old and uncomfortable. We appreciated all of the bedrooms but, overall, the rooms and bathrooms could use some updating. One of the showers had no hot water and a big part of the carpet upstairs was soaked when we got there as if there was a leak somewhere. The property shows a lot of signs of needing care - the yard was full of dead trees and dead shrubs in the landscaping. A few of the stairs on the deck were starting to break and need to be repaired. The center part of the dock looked like it was falling into the lake and needed to be fixed. It has the potential to be a great space, but someone needs to actually be there regularly taking care of it. We had a good time, but a lot of this was disappointing given the thousands of dollars we spent to be here for two nights.

Scattering Rice Gem

This home was perfect for our stay. We had four families each with kids in their late teens and early 20s. Plenty of room in the house for sleeping and large group meals and card playing. The deck and yard are well kept with a great view of the water. We brought two boats with us. The dock is big and could have fit a third boat. We have been renting on the chain for the last five years and this was our best experience. Great house!

Great Experience

Accuracy of property was excellent. Property and cabin were clean and tidy. Wifi was surprisingly fast and handled a group of 6 with no issues. Only two complaints:- The code provided for the front door lock did not work when we arrived and had to call the 1-800 number to get it reset, which did work but was a slight inconvenience after traveling all day- The upstairs master bathroom shower had no hot water at all. Every other bathroom worked just fine though.Aside from those two issues everything else was great and would definitely stay again or recommend to anyone else!

Great place to gather!

My family lives all over the country now and we planned to gather in Eagle River (where my dad grew up and we vacationed as kids) together for a long weekend at this rental. I was concerned that there were going to be too few bathrooms and not enough space, but that was not the case at all. This place has a huge living room and kitchen that is perfect for groups and tons of bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms. There is an extra fridge in the laundry room which proved to be necessary. We rented a boat and had it dropped off eighth at the pier and we had an absolutely wonderful weekend around the fire pit and on the lake. I forgot my kindle in my bedroom and discovered it on my drive home and the housekeeper mailed it to me immediately. Thank you, housekeeper! We all agreed the house was perfect for our family gathering and would book it again.

Fun in the sun and in the water!

We had a wonderful stay with tons of fun and priceless memories! Lots of room for everyone. Being our group was large to the max, freezer space was very tight! Dishwasher only worked well on light wash! Do bring extra dishwasher pods, dish towels and dishclothes! Bring extra washer pods also. The majority of us had to leave a day earlier due to funeral, clinic appt and college commitments! I did feel bad as I did not strip the beds as in one place I read no need and then I also read don’t do any wash as they sanitize and use scent free detergent and then another place they said to wash a load of towels! I did not do any as I did not want them to set in the washer wet. I am not complaining at all , just explaining ! Already looking for next year! 👍

Property manager has not called back about left items

I enjoyed the house and property. However, I accidentally left items and have not received a call back from management. One item is an electronic device I can track and see moving from rental property to rental property, presumably with housekeeping. I am really hoping they will return my items to me.

Good location and property

It is great property and location, good amount of space for a group of 21 people. Hot water capacity can be increased. Some more additional entertainment can be added like hand soccer board , air hockey , snooker/billiards, bullseye dart.

A delight

We celebrated my husband's 40th birthday here with 15 people (total). There was more than enough room for everyone. The place is gorgeous and the sunset........ even better. We all stood in awe and watched the sun go down. Truly a place to be together, to enjoy nature, and to have a wonderful time.

We went here for my wife’s 60th birthday celebration. The place was immaculate and the pictures don’t do it justice. Everything was clean and just as advertised… We had 10 adults and six kids… And it easily accommodated us all. We will definitely be back!

Property was nice, house was nice. Geese and geese droppings on lawn and dock were a problem. Water was quite weedy at waters edge so swimming was really only good off of a boat

Our trip to Island View I June 18 to June 25, 2022.

Our trip to Island View I June 18 to June 25, 2022. We have been to both Island View I & II before. LIKED: 1. The outdoor grill had been replaced. Great! 2. The house was generally clean and tidy. 3. You fixed the screens. 4. You fixed the steps. 5. The beds were clean and made. ISSUES: 1. Several of the dock posts were off; maybe high water floated the off and they didn't settle into the holes at low water. Also many of the dock tie-up cleats were missing. 2. Stove light didn't work 3. We couldn't light the fireplace. 4. Dishwasher utensil rack bottom was broken out – previously reported and maybe fixed. 5. Dishwasher lower rack was missing a roller. 6. Hand mixer was missing. 7. The 2 dish towels are not enough; we brought 4 from home and washed daily. 8. The toilet seat in the first floor bathroom with tub, was slipping sideways. The right side bolt had been replaced, but there was too much "play" in that slot. Garbage pickup – we were told Fridays, when we arrived on Saturday all containers were full. The containers at the road were emptied on Tuesday. But the containers near Island View II were never taken to the road, therefore never emptied. One of the house-keepers and I dragged the filled containers to the road, because another group was coming. But the containers will not be emptied in time for the new group. This a major issue that needs to be addressed.

Family Spring Break Trip to Make Maple Syrup

We rented the Grand View on the Lake for our family of 15 (3 generations), for spring break 2022 (Mar 20-25). We traveled from Oregon to have the entire family experience making maple syrup at my brothers sugar shack near Rhinelander. The Grand View on the Lake house was perfect for our purposes, plenty of beds, lots of space in living room upstairs and downstairs, well stocked kitchen. Then on Wed (the 23rd) we had an ice storm. When we got back from the sugar bush, with everyone cold and hungry the power was out. The owner arranged for us to move to the house on Rangeline road (Island View 1). They had turned on the heat so it was warm when we arrived. However, by the time we arrived at about 8:30 there was no power at this house either. Then the owners had us move to a third place with power and heat, both were greatly appreciated by everyone. They went far and beyond what was necessary to get us a warm inviting place, even though the ice storm was beyond anyone's control. The family had a great time at the VRBO and making maple syrup. It was an adventure for sure, and there will be stories that our children and grand children will tell for years to come. Everyone had a great time, despite the ice and snow. The owners were amazing, we may not have appreciated how amazing when we had 15 tired and cold people on Wed evening, but are very grateful for the effort of the owners to find us a place to stay on short notice.
