After being in the overnight cabin rental business for many years, I quickly learned that many guests are very afraid of driving on steep-winding-curvy-white-knuckle-nail-biting mountain roads going back & forth to their rental cabin, especially after dark.
So, I set out to find a cabin that would have easy access to all the fun activities, restaurants & grocery stores without having to travel any steep mountain roads. When I found this cabin located right off of a good main paved road & close to all the activities, I knew this would be one of the favorite places for my guests to stay. Being located right on the riverbank of the Little Pigeon River was really a plus.
When I saw that the cabin had ZERO STEPS to walk onto the deck & enter the cabin's main level & for a vehicle to be able to pull right up to the deck, I knew this was another important thing for so many of my past guests. Right away, I knew that this would be my next cabin.
Another important factor was when I discovered the closeness of Dollywood & all the Pigeon Forge activities & being able to travel good back roads to avoid the normal heavy area, I was really excited to have found this cabin. And, being located right on the river! What could be better than that!!
Contractors & I gave this cabin a mayor over-haul & face-lift in the summer of 2018. While working on it, my Great Pyrenees, Buddy & I really enjoyed watching all the friendly river tubers wave as they floated down the river. They all seemed to enjoy the laziness of floating on the river in the big tubes & relaxing & talking among themselves. That was when I decided the new name for the cabin had to be LAZY RIVER.
Over the years, I have had many of my guests ask where they could fish in the Smoky Mountain area. Now I can tell them that I have the perfect fishing spot, right out the back door of the Lazy River on that huge gigantic rock right on the river.
