Casita K was a nice place to stay, overall. The soundproofing between our duplex units was sufficient. There was no noise from outside the compound of these units. This unit faces the walkway from the center of the complex to the nice, gated parking area: this means that people are walking by just a few feet away from the dining area window: it was a bit disconcerting to have several groups of chatting (subdued) people walk by so closely. There certainly wasn't much of a sense of privacy.
The two bedrooms were spacious and comfortable with plenty of closet space and drawer storage space. The bathroom is also spacious and well-appointed and had nice towels.
We had problems with the dishwasher and garbage disposal. We fixed the dishwasher. When alerted, the managers wrote back and offered us a bottle of wine for our trouble. While we did not take them up it, it was nice of them to make the offer. The garbage disposal had a small, steady leak and a gusher leak when the disposal was used. We simply unplugged it and put a catch basin under the sink drain. We alerted the managers who later told us the connection was tricky and they would fix it after we left.
The only other annoyance was that there was no laundry soap for the very modern stacked washer/drier combo. While this soap was not promised in the listing, supplying detergent would be a very minimal expense with great customer appreciation reward. Short term renters are expected to buy way more detergent than they could possibly use during their stay. I was advised that I could leave the remainder for the following guests. I could see asking long-term renters to buy their own as they are asked to pay for electricity use.
Upon leaving, I wrote the managers with some suggestions for what I thought might make the unit more appealing from a renter's point of view (I own and operate my own rental property) but I never heard back from them. Though the listings for this group claim to respond to inquiries and questions 'within a few hours,' in reality on several occasions they did not nearly meet that level of service. They have a lot of rental properties but this area of service could stand improvement.
All told, I would consider renting at this collection of casitas again for my and my extended family's future yearly trips to Tucson. We enjoyed our stay overall but we were not over the moon with it. It would not take much to make this an A+ rental unit.
