This rental unit is located in a beautiful neighborhood, and the views out most of the windows are really lovely. The week we were there was quiet, which was wonderful. We hardly saw another person in the same group of condos the entire week. We felt like we had the entire place to ourselves!
Along with our adult children and spouses, we were there with our two young grandsons, ages 1 and 3. Potential renters should know that this unit is not currently geared toward young children. We were advised that there is a safety gate on one of the 2 stairways, which there was. However, the gate was not in working order. There were 4 bolts holding it to a wall, and 3 of them were stripped. My husband was able to tighten the 1 remaining bolt, and with a good deal of duct tape, keep it upright enough so that we had time to run over to it when the little ones began to push on it. It was a problem the entire week. Several of the doors (bedrooms, laundry) wouldn't latch, so the boys were able to get into rooms that we did not want them in.
Apart from these concerns were other basic maintenance issues. One of the biggest problems was the kitchen sink. About halfway through our visit, the disposal stopped working and the sink would not drain. We called the property management company, who told us not to put food down the disposal (fine with us) and advised my husband how to drain the sink from lying on the floor underneath. That worked. However, for the next 3 or 4 days, we had to do this almost every time we used the kitchen sink. Not fun. Before we left for home, we gave a list over the phone to the property management company regarding other maintenance issues, which they seemed to appreciate. If the owners/ property management company attend to the needed repairs, this would be a nice vacation rental.
Finally, please install a mirror somewhere in the master bathroom or bedroom. How does a man shave or a woman fix her hair or apply makeup with no mirror in the master suite? Such an easy fix to hang one on the back of a door. Thank you.
