Great location

The house is in a great location just feet away from the beach and shopping. Our favorite part was bei.g so close to the beach. Its just a short walk behind the house. Nice location. Being close enough to go out at night with the kids to go ghost crabbing. The house was well stocked, clean, plenty of room for 4 families. It was an amazing time!

Beautiful house close to the beach

House was as described very clean and had everything we need. Short walk to the beach in a quiet neighborhood. Only drawback was going up 3 flights of steps to get to the living room and kitchen. Our kids and grandkids had a wonderful time!

Good rental property

Overall, a good experience. The AC didn't seem great, WiFi was a little hit-&-miss, and there was some need for updating/sprucing up the property, but no major complaints. Good location for beach access and shopping, and pretty good bang for your buck.

Such a lovely stay!

A Stone's Throw was a perfect setting for a week at the beach! The home was spacious, the pool and hot tub so enjoyable! I especially loved the convenience of the quick walk to the beach, with an easy sand path just behind the house. While we were able to bring our dog (which was great!), the home didn't present as if dogs had been there previously; no odor, no apparent wear and tear from furry family members. This was a wonderful week away and we will certainly return for future vacations!

Absolutely perfect

House was absolutely clean and prepared when we arrived. Enjoyed the multiple decks. The short walk to the beach on the sand path behind the house is a delight and the beach access was easy. Very convenient location for shopping as the food lion and Harris teeter are 5-10 minute drives. The pool was clean and pleasant. The hot tub worked perfectly and afforded. A nice sanctuary at the end of the day. The house was fully equipped and the beds and furniture quite comfortable. A great house and location for a beach vacation. Would highly recommend a stones throw to anyone visiting Corolla. Oh and you can bring your dog.

Family memories

Perfect spot for a week with the family. Plenty of room. Close to the beach. Can hear the waves crashing from the decks. Everything was as pictured in the listing. We would definitely stay here again.

Great vacation home

A Stone's Throw was spacious and comfortable for our 2 close knit families. The fact that the beach was just a close walk, allowed everyone the flexibility to go back and forth as they wanted. Kids enjoyed the pool table, the hammock, and the multiple TVs. Tim Buk Tu shops and restaurants close enough to bike to. Only down sides were the smallness of the pool and the house was not cleaned well before checking in (thick layer of dust on furniture and ceiling fans, surfaces and fridges not clean).

Overall, the house had everything we need to feel like home. The only complaint we had was the AC unit on the second and first floor ran very warm compared to the top floor. I brought a fan for the bedroom so that help a little.

Don't bring a trailer. We got a warning ticket as we were pulling in.

We had a great time.!The house was perfect for our needs. We had some wants but for the price and time of year we were pleased with our choice. The beach was a short walk through sand and actually quite nice. We saw and heard nature on the walk to the beach everyday. The property manager helped us find a place to park our trailer right away and that helped. (we parked the trailer at the fire station) Thank you Shoreline OBX!

not clean, office not responsive

With all the COVID related measures Shoreline OBX was taking for cleaning procedures it is an understatement to say this place was clean upon arrival. We did not have a dog at the house for our stay and there was a ton of dog hair and dirt on the floor when we swept up in the evening after arrival. There were a couple items which fell under the beds in the bunk room and there was a crazy amount of dog hair under those beds as well. Do the cleaners even vacuum before arrival? The dishes were still in the dishwasher on arrival and there was no ice in the ice machines. I had put a call into the office and left a message and never received a call back. Also a couple days before my check in i left a message and sent an email to ask about a couple things at the house. Never got a reply or a call back. This was not a very memorable experience from a customer service standpoint or from a rental house perspective.

The house was in a great location to the beach, pool was much smaller than expected but fine- enough to get wet! The decks could've used some better seating. The WiFi kept going out on us and didn't work for a couple of days. I would suggest new mattresses as nobody got a good nights sleep. Other than that, kitchen was well stocked, the living area was comfortable. The pool table room was awkward to play video games with no comfortable seating. We had a great week weather wise. Beach is gorgeous.

Great location.

I thought the property and location were good overall and it had most everything we needed. The only negative comments I have is that the house needs a deeper ckeaning, seems it is somewhat minimal cleaning and most of the beds need some new mattresses.

Family vacation

The property was just what our family of 10 needed. The location to the beach was superb. Stores for needed supply’s were also close by. There was no reason to leave the island. Great place for making memories.

Really liked the location, very close to beach access however, no views from any of the decks, just looking and hearing other guests in surrounding houses. We always enjoy sitting on the deck and at least looking out at something other than rows and rows of houses, pools, hot tub, .... Although the house was not particularly clean, it was good enough for all the kids we brought.

First OBX Vacation

Never Able to Relax

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Upon arriving at this beach house I walked through a dirty puddle under the carport to get into the door. There had been a torrential downpour, but I was not walking thru puddles of water, I was walking thru dirty water. I put in a “Service call” to Shoreline OBX to clean the carport/concrete area. I then discovered that the swimming pool & hot tub were dirty with sand and floating hair. Past rental experience in the Outer Banks was that someone came to clean Saturday after we checked in, this never happened. The A/C was not cooling and I needed to submit a “service call”. The toilet in one of the bathrooms was running constantly, I needed to submit a “service call”. The 3rd floor bedroom bedspread was filty, and upon removing it, I discovered the mattress had no mattress pad or cover, asked the Service Tech from Shoreline OBX to take it to be cleaned on Monday ,he did not take & left it in the house. The third floor screened in porch had a torn screen and there was a high top table & chairs in that area. The high top chair was directly in front of the torn screen creating a safety issue with the young children in our party. A “service call” was made, and I closed the room off from our use. Discovered the WiFi was not working and put in a “service call” to Shoreline OBX. The gas grill was unsafe to use for Sunday dinner and we had to go out and buy a charcoal grill, a “service call” was put into Shoreline OBX. Water pipe burst on Wednesday and we had to relocate to another house Wednesday night. Constant problems with this house. Based on the above information I feel I was given a rental unit that was unsafe, dirty and needed repairs. Saturday evening, Sunday and Monday were about “Service Calls” being made to Shoreline OBX who rented me this unit.I requested a 2 day refund of my rent monies and instead was offered an extra night stay which no one in our party could do. Will NEVER deal w/ Shoreline OBX again. Better experience w/ Sun Realty in OBX

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Pictures wee misleading in the bedrooms and bathrooms top floor is nice, middle floor needs updated. Top floor air conditioner was broken when we arrived and took over 24 hours to fix. House smelled when we arrived and needed to be sprayed. Finally, washer broke while we were there and one couldn't get delivered until the Monday that we were gone. However, the rental company was very responsive. Not sure if I would recommend the property in the current condition.
