Good: the cabin is adorable: spacious, cozy, very clean. We loved the deck overlooking the creek as well as the fire pit by the creek. As a serious arachnophobe, I was delighted with how clean the deck was considering it’s in the middle of the woods! I sat out there every morning and most evenings and it was very nice. The grill was super handy several evenings for dinner. Well-stocked with towels, paper products, hand soap, etc. Overall, it was a comfortable and relaxing place to spend a week.
Not so good: the road up to the cabin was not “well-maintained” as advertised, at least not if you have a sedan. An suv or 4wd would be fine, but it was not good for our car at all, and I would’ve appreciated a warning about that. The shower heads were very old and not pleasant at all…not a huge expense to change those out. Faucet water pressure was weak, especially in the kitchen. And there were 7 out of 10 missing lightbulbs in the main room, making it very dim and not great for reading. One more thing: the water is terrible. So metallic tasting and smelling. A water filter would be great, although I’m sure that’s an expensive upgrade.
One of the things that was so nice about this cabin was the affordability, and we understand upgrades can make that cost go up, but some simple, relatively inexpensive upgrades would make it more pleasant overall. It really is a great cabin in a great location, just needs a little bit of attention.
