Wonderful stay in Paris

We were simply blown away by our stay. The property is gorgeous but even more, Jean-Luc and Frédéric are just incredible hosts. They were so attentive, and clearly invested in us having the best stay possible in Paris, providing excellent recommendations based on our interests. And the little things, like how they tailored the amazing breakfasts based on our likes, just sets them head and shoulders above other experiences. We can't say enough good things about our stay. Perfect host

I cannot say enough about Frederic and Jean Luc. Every morning we were treated to the most beautiful breakfast. The house and neighborhood are lovely. And they themselves are wonderful and warm people who we now consider family. I will recommend to everyone I know.

A truly delightful stay!

The Villa de la Terrasse is a charming place to stay. Yes, you can easily take the train into Paris to enjoy all it has to offer. But you can also enjoy the peace and tranquility of the house, its garden, and the very nearby Parks (Sceaux, Valle aux Loups/Isle Verte/Maison de Chateaubriand). The Arboretum is World Class with a fabulous display of bonsai! You have the best of all worlds AND your host, Frederic, who serves a fantastic breakfast AND makes you ever so comfortable! We cannot say enough good things about this place!

Beautiful Home and Gracious Hosts

We’ve been staying through VRBO in Fredericks’ home at Châtenay-Malabry. We had the whole top floor and it was a fabulous experience. If ever you travel to the area of Paris, France and would like staying close to a train line, but out of the hustle and bustle of Paris, book with Frederick. Breakfast every morning, and kindness every second of your stay. He speaks far better English than I will ever speak French. I will definitely visit Villa De La Terrasse anytime I travel to the area of Paris.

Perfection in Paris

if you are looking for pristine linens, well appointed rooms, tour advice, beautiful views and sumptuous breakfasts, you could book an upscale hotel, but you would be missing out on experiencing true French hospitality. Châtenay-Malabry is the place to stay for all this and more. Frederic and Jean-Luc, you made our family feel right at home from the beginning. As parents we appreciated coming back to a safe, secure and comfortable home after busy days in Paris. R and C loved Frederic’s breakfasts and the candy dish. Thank you for helping us make our children’s first trip to Paris and Europe, the trip of a lifetime.

Charming home and a brilliant host with a true gift of service. Frederic is awesome!

This home is incredibly clean and comfortable. The location is in a nice quiet suburb that is close to the train station and lots of fun things to do. If you are looking for a place where you can mingle with very kind and welcoming locals, but also do the tourist thing.. this is the place for you. Frederic is as much a part of what makes this place special as the historic home. He is an excellent cook and was attentive to make our stay perfect. Although he seemed to feel that his work as an "inn keeper" was just part of the gig, you rarely find that level of service and attention to every detail anywhere. My family and I will definitely be returning to this place. Merci beaucoup!!

Beautiful property, very clean and comfortable. Frederic is lovely and breakfasts exceptional.

The property is within easy walking distance of the train station which is itself 20 minutes from the centre of Paris. Frederic is very friendly, speaks excellent English and makes you feel very at home. He freshly cooks and prepares breakfast daily and does his best to please and the food is delightful.The rooms are exceptionally clean and tastefully decorated and comfortable. The rooms were cleaned daily. Our car was able to be safely parked by the house for the duration of our stay whilst we used public transport. There are lovely views from the rooms and the area is quiet. We stayed with our two daughters aged 12 and 13 who appreciated the lollipops and sweets in the rooms and the crepes and cakes at breakfast. We could not have hoped to have found a better place for our 3 day stay in Paris.

Unforgettable

If you are even slightly considering staying at La Villa de la Terrasse, save yourself the waffling and the searching, and just book it. Jean-Luc and Frédéric are the most amazing hosts and generally wonderful people. They were so welcoming and friendly, and worked very hard to make our stay the best it could possibly be. The breakfasts they provided were better than restaurant quality, and included eggs from their very own chickens. They gave us really useful suggestions on what to see and how to get around during what was our first time in Paris. Their home is comfortable, clean, and beautifully finished and decorated. The second floor has lovely floors and arched windows - one of which has an expansive view that includes a nearby chateau. A peaceful garden surrounds the house. I can't imagine a better home away from home!

Beautiful home with lovely hosts

When I saw the listing with the pictures I had to book it for our Paris trip we were taking our mother in law on. It was very beautiful like in the pictures. Frederic and Jean Luc are wonderful and trustworthy and it felt safer than staying in a hotel. I didn’t realize our rooms were on the third floor with a steep spiral wooden staircase but I may have overlooked. Only an issue with an older guest with us we were already pushing to limits in the city with walking and steps. We also never had time to figure out the train system (our fault) and so spent hundreds of dollars and several hours on getting from there to Paris throughout the few days. Still, we enjoyed the home the little time we were there. They were gracious enough to make a nice breakfast each day (eggs as I was pregnant and wanting the protein) and wonderful teas. I would recommend a little mini fridge for the upstairs tea area so we could have our water chilled? And perhaps a full length mirror unless I missed one in the other bedroom.

The loveliest of hosts and the loveliest of homes! Frederic and Jean-Luc are wonderful!

The hosts take great care to ensure a one-of-a-kind stay for their guests. An early 20th century home that is an artistic showcase inside. We found everything we needed in our top-floor rooms: a desk, comfortable beds, a luggage rack, toiletry items, and a modern bathroom with an excellent shower. In the morning, we were treated to a beautifully presented breakfast of homemade crepes and jam, French bread, fresh fruit and tea. A vase of flowers on the table and soft music playing made it a truly memorable meal. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood about a 10-minute walk from the train stop. The town has an abundance of gardens and a mini-Versailles villa that should be seen if you have the time. I can't say enough about the warmth of our hosts. We arrived earlier than planned and they weren't home so they arranged for their neighbor to hold our bags. We ended up staying for tea and snacks and a mini-tour of the town by car! After our night at their home, my son checked into a week-long soccer camp in Chatenay-Malabry and we left the country; Jean-Luc and Frederic told him that if he needed anything to call them right away. What a comforting gesture! An added bonus to our stay was Juno, the resident rescue cat. Merci, Frederic and Jean-Luc, for the wonderful accommodations and your kind hospitality.

A true home away from home!

To say that this was the best lodging experience I’ve ever had would be an understatement. Everything about my stay was perfect. Every morning Frédéric greeted us with a smile and the most delicious breakfast. We had fresh pastries from the local bakery and assorted homemade jams. Every morning was different! And the crepes... ah, the crepes! I know everyone has mentioned them but it’s only because they are absolutely delicious! The house is very clean and organized, but we always felt at home. Our room was clean and we had fresh linens throughout our stay. It is the type of service I would expect from a 5 star resort! Frédéric always offered to answer any questions we had and help us with whatever we needed. I really appreciated his welcoming demeanor and kind attitude. I never felt like I was bothering him with my questions. He even allowed us to drop our bags off before our check in time upon arrival because our flight landed so early! Our last night there, Frédéric and Lulu took us to see the Eiffel Tower at night! They offered to take us to see the lights and it was truely the most kind gesture! Best host we've encountered in all of our years of travel. Clean, safe, and beautiful home.

Frederic is an unbelievably outstanding host. Frederic kept in touch with us way before our arrival, since we were coming from another part of France rather late. We were greeted so warmly after a long 7 hour drive. We didn't have a difficult time finding parking, and the best part was that we didn't have to pay for parking. It was so nice to arrive from a long trip to a charming, beautiful, and super clean home. We loved the sign that greeted us at the top of the staircase, it was quite welcoming. For breakfast, he made wonderful crepes served with other breakfast items beautifully presented, but most importantly, very delicious. When the weather was lovely we ate breakfast at the patio behind the house. It was such a joy to eat breakfast there listening to the birds chirping and having conversation with Frederic; was a fantastic start to a day chock filled with activities. The house is close to public transportation, restaurants, bakeries, and local markets. The house is about maybe, 10 minutes to the regional RER train, and is about 20 minutes ride to downtown Paris. We loved that the house is not that far from downtown Paris, and is also not that far from Versailles as well. The neighborhood is very safe and quiet which was exactly what we needed after a long day of sightseeing in Paris and Versailles; to go back to a house that is nearby and did not have to worry about our safety. My family truly enjoyed our stay at Frederic's beautiful, charming, and clean home. We all agreed that if we were to come back to Paris, we will definitely make reservations at Frederic's home. This was absolutely, without doubt, the best place we've stayed in the 4 1/2 weeks of traveling throughout Europe, more specifically the best host we've encountered throughout all of our years of travel.

Lovely Home and Amazing Hosts!

We were welcomed by our hosts first with excellent communication prior to our arrival, then with literal open arms. The house is beautiful, in a wonderful neighborhood within easy walking distance to to B train that wisks you into Paris or onward to Charles de Gaulle airport. The rooms were everyone's dream of a French holiday, with windows opening out over the lovely garden. I cannot say enough about the generous breakfasts. Homemade crepes, fresh baguettes and fruit, yogurt, homemade jams, and eggs cooked to order and perfection, all in a dining room opening to the rear garden. If you are looking for the perfect place for your Paris vacation, with quick access to Versailles, where you are welcomed like royalty, this is the place for you!

Charming Slice of French Villa Life

Frédéric and Jean-Luc are absolutely delightful hosts! Their house is beautifully decorated, the view is stunning, and the fresh breakfast they prepare each morning is peaceful and incredibly delicious. They were such kind and helpful hosts- they even printed off suggestions of what to see for free in each area of Paris we planned to visit. Only about a 10 minute walk away there is a delightful boulangerie where you can pick up some tasty pastries, and the train station is right across from that. Our time in their villa was certainly a highlight of our Paris trip and we hope we can stay with them again.

5-star accommodations and hosts!!

This was a legitimate 5-star accommodation. The location was perfect with an 11-minute walk to the train which took you right to Paris. We used the train and metro almost daily with ease. Our hosts explained the system and showed us how to use it. We spent a week at the home utilizing both bedrooms on the top floor. Each had its own bathroom and sitting area. Plenty of room for my family of 4, all adults. The entire house was immaculate and our rooms were cleaned daily! Breakfast was provided daily which included all fresh food, delicious bread, fruit, pastries, eggs, etc. We rented a car for longer outings and were provided a parking space across the street, which was perfect. My husband and I had been to France a few years ago and although enjoyable, was nothing like this time, which can be attributed to the hosts. They made recommendations, printed out a list of sites to see in parts of Paris we intended to visit, and gave us travel books to help us navigate. But it was their warm, friendly, and inviting manner that made this trip so special. We sat and spoke, and learned about France and french living in a way you cant get from museums and books. We always felt comfortable in their home. We have stayed at many places and travel often and this was the best experience we have ever had. We cannot recommend them enough. We are very grateful for their kindness and hospitality.

A Charming Spot! All the stars!

Our family of 4 (2 kids - 6 and 4yo) used this charming space as our home-away-from-home to attend a local family wedding. We couldn’t ask for a better experience! The beautiful space accommodated our needs and both Jean Luc and Frederic were delightful, responsive, and attentive to us and our children. Absolutely will use again someday! Thank you!!!

Unmatched hospitality

In all my travels I have never encountered hosts who were as warm and welcoming as Frederic and Jean Luc. From the moment we rang their doorbell, we were embraced by their enthusiasm to address our every need, and make their lovely home our restful retreat outside of Paris. The four of us shared two rooms on the upper level of the home, each room with its own bathroom, shower, and sitting area. In the morning we were greeted by a delicious breakfast of fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries, baguette, jam, butter coffee, juice and more. The location in a sweet neighborhood was convenient to the RER train into the city. There were also lovely attractions in the immediate area to explore. By the time we left, my husband, son, friend and I felt we were saying au revoir to excellent friends. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a beautiful, comfortable and quiet space outside the city.

Ganz bezaubernd!

Wir waren eine Woche lang zu Gast bei Jean-Luc und Frederic und wären gerne noch länger geblieben. Ihr Haus ist eine wahre Insel der Schönheit! Das Frühstück ist extrem lecker und mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Fast alles ist selbst gemacht. Die Anbindung an Paris könnte besser nicht sein. Der Bahnhof und auch die Geschäfte des täglichen Bedarfs sind in kurzer Zeit zu Fuß zu erreichen. Vielen Dank für diesen großartigen Aufenthalt! Wir haben es sehr genossen und kommen gerne wieder!

Eine wunderschöne Unterkunft mit sehr herzlichen Gastgebern! Nach einem rummeligen Tag in Paris genau das Richtige, auch für die Kinder. Das Frühstück war ein Genuss, insbesondere die frisch zubereiteten Crepes! Gerne wieder!

A home away from home

We had the most unforgettable stay at Jean-Luc and Frédéric's beautiful home in a nice and quiet Parisian neighborhood. They are the perfect hosts and we had the most delicious breakfasts every morning. Their attention to detail, warm hospitality and willingness to assist were better than any five star resort. We will miss our evening chats and the company of their beautiful cat Juno. When we return to Paris, we know where 'home' awaits.

Perfect stay!

Could not have asked for a better experience. We stayed at the property so we could see Paris, but the house was the highlight of the trip. Best breakfasts we had during our entire time in France, even compared to high scale restaurants. We will stay again if back in Paris.
