We are sorry to hear you didn't feel safe in the neighborhood, hence you decided to not stay in the apartment. We can certainly understand everyone has their own perspectives and sensitivities to new experiences. We are sorry your introduction to Marathon Village was not a positive one for you. We were very upfront about the location of our home and it is as advertised. The location, surrounding area/neighborhood, and the building name are advertised in the listing description with a map so potential guests can check the area out before proceeding with the booking. Google is very helpful when checking out a certain place you have not been into, you can easily check out the place/area as it has updated photos provided by different travelers. Additionally, reviews are there as well to help other travelers when checking out the place/area. In addition, the building is inside the gated complex including the parking, which has a specific code, and guests are provided a unique access code to the apartment. While the area is transitional, Marathon Village is a vibrant up-and-coming neighborhood. By way of some background Marathon Village, a unique neighborhood of sorts that has become quite a Nashville hotspot and is mere minutes from Downtown Nashville, Hillsboro Village, Belmont, Vanderbilt, and 12-South. Some of Nashville's best whiskey and spirit makers call Marathon Village home as do a number of shops — with more than 45 tenants representing fine, commercial, and performing arts — and one of the nation’s oldest historic African American universities. We understand that some of the pockets are still up-and-coming and not quite as pretty to look at, which can be deceiving; one might assume crime or danger is present. For what it is worth, the information is 100% accurate and available at the listing. We do encourage guests to do their research on location before booking a place. Furthermore, the listing is advertised on different booking platforms with plenty of positive reviews from different travelers. Nevertheless, we do understand your perspective and once again we are sorry our home didn't exceed your expectation due to its location.
