Each year my group of friends and I (Ranging from 16-25 people) go on a big ski trip to different mountains all over Colorado and California. That being said, we've stayed at a lot of different homes, apartments, condos, etc. so we have quite a bit of experience living in spaces that accommodate big groups.
Starting with what we liked about the property:
- Allison was a gracious host who was very communicative and responsive to our needs and questions. She was also willing to let us stay past our check out time due to a massive snow squall the morning we were set to leave.
- The space is good, there are plenty of beds for 18 people to sleep.
- Location is excellent! Minutes from downtown Frisco, quick drive to Breck, Keystone and Copper.
Some items we had issues with:
- While it was out of Allison's control, due to the extreme weather in Frisco the week before, one of the community spaces in the house was mainly closed off due to a leak in the roof, and a window in the living room had broken/was covered only by a cardboard box, obstructing our view to outside and causing a slight draft.
- The house is on a septic system, and if one person was in the shower and another tried to use any water, the shower water would completely shut off. Also, the tub in the master took almost an hour to completely fill without other water running. For a house that has 5.5 bathrooms and can sleep 18 people, this is very inconvenient, and in the past we've had no issue with 3-4 people using water at once in mountain homes.
- It's important to note (not shown in pictures) that you have to walk through the community game room to get to the master bedroom, and there is a large opening in the ceiling between the two rooms. Not a deal breaker, but worth noting if you want privacy.
- Master bedroom does not have a closet or drawers to unpack your items.
-Second upstairs bedroom has a glass door with no curtain for privacy.
- Thermostat in the far bedroom on main floor didn't work. When asked owners they told us to just use space heaters, but didn't know where they were located in the house (could have been better communicated before our stay)
-Kitchen could be better stocked with measuring cups/spoons, etc.
- Many rooms lacked window blinds, so sleeping in was near impossible
-Not the cleanest
All in all, nice property, but not the nicest we've ever stayed in. Due to the abundance of large homes in the Summit County area, we most likely wouldn't return.
