Peaceful, comfortable, and welcoming
Our flight was delayed and we arrived at the house, with our three almost-grown children, after 9:30 pm. Scott went out of his way to make sure we didn't get lost and helped us to feel at home right from the start.
The ambience of the home and the surrounding land and country are so peaceful . There is a fabulous uphill hike to the national forest right outside the door. Over three days we saw birds, wildflowers, elk, and a very self-absorbed black bear.
The house is perfectly appointed and the kitchen had everything (even a salad spinner), but wasn't at all cluttered. We, quite literally, would start to think, "it would be nice if they had _________," and then we'd find it right where we needed it (down to the night lights for the bathroom).
Cell service in the area is limited, but wifi service in the house was strong and consistent. We all had our own comfortable beds and sleeping with the windows open let in the cool, fresh air. One morning we woke to the sound of wild turkeys outside.
The surrounding area provided kayaking, fishing, hiking, etc. and there is an adequate small grocery not too far away. Quality restaurants in the area were practically non-existent, but we were happy to eat in and enjoy the peace and quiet.
We hope to return to enjoy the area and Scott's house again.
