Not just a vacation rental.....but a retro experience!

Tune up your spirits *Re-fuel & Rest * *Step Back in Time!

We purchased this old gas station building in 2016 and spent 3 years restoring it. We opened for business in the spring/summer of 2019.
We’ve kept as much of the original building’s elements as possible while restoring it with a mid-century vibe and local history. There are many vintage items to help you immerse yourself in the '50s. The bay area has been converted into living/sleeping space including TV & seating area as well as queen-sized bed & dresser. The futon folds down to sleep one person. The back room has 2 twin beds and dresser as well. It leads to a fenced backyard with shaded patio and gas grill. The kitchenette features refrigerator, stove top, oven & microwave. Cupboards are stocked with dishware/utensils/cookware. The dining area has a formica table and seats 3 or 4. The bathroom has a tub/shower unit with toiletries. (Not ADA compliant). The utility room offers a washer and dryer. Plenty of parking available to side and front of building.

Service dogs are welcome.

Cowboy Trail: Close to the Cowboy Trail for biking trips.
Long Pine State Park: Picnic, hike and tube the creek.
Scenic Niobrara River: Canoe, kayak or float the river.
Smith Falls State Park:. Picnic, hike to the falls, wade in the river.
Keller State Park:. Picnic, hike and fish the ponds.

Perfect walking distance for everything. So retro and clean. The semis going down the highway were loud which sucks if your a light sleeper; bring earplugs. Very informative and relaxing!

Great Nostalgic Vacation Home in the center of town, close to what Ainsworth has to offer. Centrally located between Long Pine and Valentine, good for visiting both areas.

Cutest Stay EVER!

This property is the cutest place you will ever stay! It looks exactly like the pictures but better! The owners were so kind and are very well known around town. There were so many things to look at within the place and so many great details. I was only there a short time but it was comfortable and enjoyable.

This property was amazing, so much time was put into the renovation of it taking it back to the 1950-1960 down to many of the dishes in the cupboard! True experience of what Nebraska was and is all about. "The Good Life"

Unique and amazing in every way

Stayed for a girls weekend to view the meteor shower. This place has been lovingly restored and is seriously fun. We were in awe of the place and its design and decor. The hosts thought of every detail. Thank you!!

Perfect Balance- Nostalgia with the Comforts of Home!

The Philing Station was absolutely incredible! There were all the comforts of home mixed with retro vibes. We loved reading the little notes sharing their progress in restoring the building as well as taking in all the memorabilia that is beautifully displayed throughout. Conveniently located, easy to check in and out, plenty of space- the Philing Station is a gem! We can't wait to go back!

Unique Great Stay

We enjoyed all automotive memorabilia, appreciate all the hard work to restore this historic place. Bed was comfortable, the place was clean, loved the bbq grill and patio.

Two nights

Clean, well stocked. Easy check in, and prompt responses. Travelers should note that 4th street address is also Hwy 20. We saw on checkout that earplugs were thoughtfully provided, and you may need them. Place is in a walkable area.

What an amazing property!! SO very comfortable-appreciated the beds/pillows and especially 100% cotton linens!! Every detail and aspect of the Station’s renovation and decor has been so well thought out and completed, my compliments to our exceptional hosts!! Clean-clean-clean, super simple check-in/out, easy parking, excellent Wifi…if I could give the station and the hosts 100 stars, I would!

Cute stay with everything we needed

The Philing Station is in easy walking distance to the Main Street Businesses, coffee shop with breakfast and lunch, groceries, convenience store, park, banks, library and is half mile from the Cowboy Trail. It is close to Long Pine State Park, Keller State Park and within distance of the Scenic Niobrara river for tubing/kayaking/canoeing or swimming. Many hunters come to stay here as well.
