We arrived after dark, so it was quite the treat to wake up in the morning to the incredible view of the ocean and sail boats. We couldn't get enough of that view! The villa was very comfortable, very clean, and had a lovely ambience. It had all the basic necessities, as well as some nice treats. It was easy to make ourselves at home there.
The location was great -- close to Deshaies and Grand Anse beach and Pearl beach. There are bamboo beach mats, but there was only one beach towel. But since there was a washing machine we were able to use and then wash the bath towels.
We brought card games with us for the evening hours. There is a tv, but our French was not good enough to follow any of the shows. There is also a hot tub and a grill, neither of which we got around to using.
It is very quiet there, so you can hear a variety of birds and frogs but hardly any traffic noise.
The villa is up a steep hill and since I had not driven a car with manual transmission in quite a few years it was a challenging drive the first few times. Basse Terre is quite hilly with narrow, twisting roads, so you might consider an automatic. For example, the drive to the plantation Habitation La Griveliere is not for the faint of heart!
The owner answered all our questions before our trip and provided excellent directions to the villa. Once there we were assisted by the owner's agent Virginie who was very helpful and very friendly. She went out of her way to deliver the keys to us at a restaurant in Deshaies the night of our arrival and was at the villa at 5 a.m. to see us off the day of our departure.
I would definitely recommend Villa Cyann.
