The property does indeed have a sense of calm and inspires relaxation and introspection. A perfect place to prepare for Ironman whether you are an athlete or a spectator. We happen to have both in our party; competitor and spectators. Happy to share that our athlete made the podium, coming in 4th in his age division, 50-54 years old. There were plenty of linens, pillows, blankets, towels, beach chairs, beach towels, and water/pool toys. So refreshing. The refrigerator was über clean, something VERY appreciated, and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils, plates, seasonings, oil/vinegar, etc. The suggestion in the binder to look around in the cupboards before grocery shopping was spot on, thank you! In fact, the Binder itself was truly appreciated; so much helpful info in there! We couldn't have enjoyed more reading through the approximately 15 years of guest book entries. My son and I particularly had a good time with this and read through them more than once. The photo albums are also a very personal and appreciated touch. It's fun to imagine all the people that have passed over the Kona Hideaway thresholds. Close enough to downtown Kailua Kona, but far enough up the hill to get out of the hustle and bustle. We would highly recommend staying here.
