Thrilled with finding a property in the Chantilly neighborhood. Fantastic location to downtown. Our problem was with the cleanliness of the house. Stained furniture (living room couch), mold in bathroom lights, registers, on the shower curtain, food in the kitchen sink drain, bath towels with bleach stains on them....no attention to detail throughout the house. I have pictures if needed. We turned on the living room lights, then the tv, and a fuse blew. I emailed the owner, and his first response was, "that's never happened before". Period. (Well it happened to me, lets fix this). He offered to bring over an extension cord the following morning. No thank you. Just please tell me where the fuse box is. That was fine, he gave me the lock code to that room. We figured out to keep lights to a minimum when the tv was on. However, I then plugged in my phone charger on the and the fuse blew again. Obviously there was a problem. It happens. Just needs to be fixed. By this point after reading more reviews of the property, it seemed like the owner is very defensive when a renter had problems, so I decided not to contact him further. It has taken me almost two weeks to write a review because of his angry response to a previous renter. But as I said, I have pictures to back up my claims, and I wouldn't rent his property again anyway. We left the house very clean. But potential renters should know, location is great, house not well cared for.
