We were happy in this cottage in Nizon, a quiet, peaceful village up the hill from Pont Aven. We were greeted by the owner's lovely mother and English-speaking sister, who had left many sweet gifts: fresh flowers, a bottle of water with glasses in the bedrooms, a bottle of Breton cider, and Breton cakes. The house had its own parking place, high-quality linens and towels, a wonderful shower, a comfortable eat-in kitchen equipped for light cooking, and windows that let in plenty of air and light. Our one caveat would be that the stairs to the two upper floors might be difficult for someone with mobility issues.
Nizon itself had one bistro and one boulangerie. Pont Aven, with its pretty riverside gardens, many restaurants, shops, and crowds of tourists, is an easy 15-20 minute walk down the hill. Pont Aven and NIzon generally were a good base for our day trips, to coast hikes, to Morbihan, and farther.
We would absolutely recommend this cottage.
