The Cottage de l’Ancre was the perfect place to stay in Albert. Great central location. It was chilly while we were there but the cottage was comfortable and toasty. Communication with Anne was super quick and easy. I would recommend this cottage to anyone visiting the WW1 sites as many are in easy reach.

Great location, home away from home

Very comfortable., excellent facilities, good WiFi, great bedding and bathrooms. All kitchen requirements plus a laundry. We found the cottage very relaxing. The owner was very helpful. Enjoyed the outside garden each evening for a red wine.

A very happy second time around!

This is the second time we have brought friends and stayed at The Cottage. It is ideally placed for visiting the WW1 battlefields and Albert. It was very clean, warm and comfortable with everything we needed. Anne is a very good host, was ready to help with our stay and without hesitation, I recommend this property.

Albert and Somme area

Lovely property, beautifully renovated to a high specification. Private garden with sitting area. Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The house is situated in the centre of Albert, not far from the Somme museum.

This property was perfect for us while visiting from the UK on our motorcycles. The house was immaculate, spotlessly clean, and very well equipped. We especially appreciated the secure garden where we could park our motorcycles, along with the electric gates which gave us extra peace of mind. The beds, including the single bed, were all exceptionally comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this property to others.

Perfect location for history tour.

A wonderful gite, clean with modern fixtures and fittings. Beds comfortable and the house was warm. Everything we needed was there. Parking was inside the gate, secure and safe. Anne was very welcoming, it was a pleasure to meet her. We explored the WW1 battlefields and Albert was the perfect place to stay. Thank you.

Mooi, centraal gelegen huis

Huis ligt heel centraal, maar ook rustig. Op loopafstand van het museum 1916 en de kathedraal . Vriendelijk ontvangen en we mochten parkeren op het terrein. Prima bedden en kussens. Erg leuk verblijf gehad!

Great Cottage in Albert

I had a great experience in this property. The cottage had plenty of space and perfect for a large family or group. The courtyard and cottage gave the feel for being in the country while still being in the near center of Albert, with plenty of restaurants, shops and attractions nearby. This is a perfect place to use as a base for touring the Somme Battlefields.

Modern apartment in a quaint old town

We had a wonderful stay here. The apartment is new and bright and right in the heart of Albert. The lovely hostess was on hand to make out stay comfortable. We used it as a base to visit some WW1 battlefield sites and to honour a number of ancestors who fought on The Somme between 1914 and 1918. We also did a day trip to Ypres for the same reason.

This property is excellent, convenient, clean.....Anne should update her photos, the ones she has don’t do justice to the renovations that she has made...

Very central

We loved staying here, clean and tidy apartment that had enough room for a family of 7. Had everything we needed in the kitchen.
