Beautiful place, filled with many activities for the whole family. Swimming, watercraft, and hiking trails. The home was well equipped, beds were comfortable, and the view was spectacular. John and Patti were gracious and attentive to our needs. I highly recommend this vrbo.

My family and I had an absolutely amazing time. The property is phenomenal, adults loved the stunning views and beautiful scenery and the kids loved swimming, watercraft and fishing. John and Patti were amazing hosts providing us with general information about events in the area as well as places to eat and shop. They were super communicative the entire time and were always available to answer any questions. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time and did not want to leave at the end of 10 days.

Relaxing retreat on a quiet lake.

This was a perfect venue for our family reunion.We are outdoorsy so all the watercraft available to us was a boon. Also the adjacent natural park with 18 acres of trails provided quiet forest walks. Our hosts were attentive and worked hard to accommodate our needs. We would love to return. Thanks John and Patty.

Wonderful Place in a Great Seattle Neighborhood

John has a fabulous property. The house is tidy and comfy, but the backyard, deck, and lakeside are the star of the show. We thoroughly enjoyed our mornings and evenings on the deck and down by the lake. So peaceful and beautiful. The local hikes were also great.It’s a convenient location as well. Not far from city center, airport, and day trips.John was very communicative and easy to work with.

Relaxing retreat

We actually disconnected!

Echo Mountain View Blue House was everything we hoped it would be! Perfect location on the lake, quiet, amazing views and overall aided us in disconnecting from technology and just enjoying nature, comfortably. I would definitely book this property again and next time, I'll do less in Seattle and spend more time at the house, just reading and enjoying the lake more.

We enjoyed the lovely lake home

The house is very comfortable. We used the home as our family’s base while visiting Mt Rainier and Seattle for several days. We enjoyed cooking and eating meals at the house. It rained just as we started a fire in the new fire pit, so we did not get to enjoy that. But we enjoyed taking the kayaks and paddle boat out on the lake. That’s a big bonus for this property. Very pretty.

Great house with great views

Such a great spacious home with a ton of outdoor living. We enjoyed our time at the home. John and Patti were always so available for anything we needed and were great hosts.

So peaceful and yet so much to do

The house was very cleaned and very well stocked. The view and the availability of boating equipment to enjoy this calm peaceful lake made all the difference. A number of games were available and we played games and puzzles. The weather was great, only had rain one night and rarely a sprinkle during the day. Nice to have fishing gear available but we didn’t get any bites. Probably didn’t fish during the right time of the day. Would definitely book again!

Rejuvenating Retreat

The hosts we're great with communication prior to arrival with everything we needed to know. The house was exactly as described & pictured. Everything we needed was provided. The lake was beautiful & sitting on the deck watching the water, the trees & hummingbirds was incredible. It was a perfect retreat that was calming & refreshing to the mind & soul. Lovely stay

Fantastically Memorable Introduction to Greater Seattle Area

Everything Exceeded Expectations! Location is Perfect. View Was Therapeutic. Hiking Trails are Top Notch and easily and quickly accessible. Hosts were Over The Top Hospitable. Home layout was ideal and decor enhanced our experience. Looking forward to another stay ASAP!

Great experience at a nice lake house

We really enjoyed our stay at this lake house. The house was built in the late 1950s and has a super neat vintage feel to it. It is uniquely decorated both inside and outside. We loved the unique view of the lake and enjoyed having coffee in the morning watching wildlife including a bald eagle fly over the lake. John is a fantastic host and offers a lot of great tips to help make the stay in Seattle better. The other thing we really loved is the quiet solitude of the house. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we enjoyed sleeping in after the hikes we did each day. The house is nicely located about 30 min from downtown Seattle but also about 40 min from some great hikes and waterfalls (Twin Falls, Rattlesnake Ledge and more). We will definitely come to rent this house again!

Serenity and verdure are what you will encounter at Lake Desire.

Our second weeklong stay put us under the spell of this special place. John is a great host and the house is very comfortable. The trail to the top of Echo Peak is steep, but on a clear day you have a great view of Mt.Rainier. Looking forward returning next year.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

We have lived next door for the last 41 years. Our neighbor of 31 years suddenly put her house up for sale without warning. She was seriously considering an offer from a developer who wanted to bulldoze and subdivide. My wife was on a sailboat in Raja Ampat, Indonesia and unable to contact. Hmm? How do I tell my wife I bought a house while she was gone?

Our neighbor was eager to sell quickly but the realtor gave me a week to contact my wife. Thankfully she sailed into Sorong and was able to receive an email. She agreed with our needed to save us, the neighborhood and this little sanctuary from developers.

We were able to reach an agreement, scramble to turn it into a vacation home rental. We aren’t in the business to make money we just want to preserve the quiet nature of our neighborhood sanctuary.

It’s been far more rewarding (not financially) than we ever expected. Since we have been travelers all of our lives we enjoy interacting with other travelers. Providing information and insight and hearing of other people’s travels.

Even though we live next door we give our guests privacy and only interact when asked. We encourage our guests to never hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns on any topic. We want to help our guests have the best stay experience possible.

You feel like you are at a remote mountain house and lake but you’re only 30 minutes from downtown Seattle.

Private dock, 65 feet of private shoreline. Gas grill and patio heater, deck furniture and a commanding view of the lake. It’s common to see eagles, osprey and heron. Occasionally deer, opossum, raccoons, otters and beaver come wandering though. If you are really lucky maybe a bobcat (not harmful). Adjacent to 18+ miles of natural forest hiking trails.
