The home was great for us. The temps were cool and the fans and open windows were sufficient. We did not cook in the home but it looked to be equipped for anyone who does. The lanai was very peaceful and a great place to have your morning coffee or to wind down in the evenings. The owners were very responsive with the listing and all information was communicated well.

We enjoyed our stay. The home was clean, the beds were comfortable and was it equipped with everything that we might need. The communication was awesome with directions and awesome details. We loved the area and it was wonderful for early morning walks to the ocean.

Great house to stay in for some relaxation on the east side of the island. Location was 30-35 minutes from Hilo, but no problems navigating all around the east side. And there were some wonderful restaurants nearby!

House was disgusting black mold on the mattresses and ceilings. You could also see where they painted over the mold! Also seen the paint in the carport the owner even admitted to recently painting.. NO A/C house was disgusting and the homeowner said they just did a deep clean not true..

We take cleanliness and guest safety very seriously. This home received a professional cleaning on March 11 and a certified inspection on March 15 (immediately following this stay), both of which confirmed the property was in excellent clean condition with no mold present anywhere in the house. Also, I had received a 5 star review prior and after this reservation. While we are sorry the guest was unhappy, the claims in this review are inaccurate , false, and a misrepresentation of the condition of our home. Furthermore, we do not list A/C as an amenity. It is important to note that Vrbo issued this guest a 100% refund due to the 'Kona Low' storm and resulting regional utility outages, and not due to the condition of the home. Having been a Premier Host for over 6 years, we remain committed to providing a high-quality, 'tropical retreat' experience for all our guests.

A great place to stay!

We absolutely loved Robert and Lina’s place. Comfortable in size, well equipped kitchen, a fantastic back deck and a location convenient to the southern part of the island. Would definitely stay again!

Nice space

This was a great space for all of us to stretch out and be comfortable after a full day of exploring. The nature sounds were peaceful and easy to go to sleep to. The lanai was amazing!

Solid Place to Stay

This property is exactly as advertised. It is a little of the beaten path but sitting on the lanai is very relaxing. We made steaks on the grill and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Gorgeous property.

We stayed 5 nights, the home was lovely, had everything we needed plus more. Great communication with the owner. Good location for exploring the whole island. Thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the verandah enjoying the breeze, view and sounds around us.

Second time is still a charm

We stayed here for 3 nights and this was the second time we stayed here. The house is amazing and allows visitors to live more like a local than a tourist. The beds are comfortable and the amenities exceptional. The grill was great to cook on and the lanai super relaxing. I didn't think it would be even better the second time but it was!

Amazing Time

This home was a home away from home! Super comfortable, easy access, less than 2 minutes away from a nice sea cliff you can take photos at. Really enjoyed staying here, the owner was very easy to contact if we needed anything and responded very quickly too. 100/100 will definitely be traveling here again in the future.

Nice Jungle Getaway

The home was exactly as advertised. It was a nice place for my wife and I to enjoy some time away. It was a bit further from Pahoa than we expected, and having to bring our own water for drinking was inconvenient, but overall we definitely enjoyed our stay and used the snorkeling equipment.

Tap water provided by in Hawaii and Pahoa are in compliance with federal health-based drinking water standards. The water is not only drinkable but has a good taste as well. For those who are more sensitive, Hawaii purified bottle water is also available at the local stores.

You feel like you're in a tropical retreat with a lot of mana while having the convenience of being close to the ocean as well as old Pahoa town and shops. Ideal for a get away to just relax outside in our large lanai or go sight seeing at the Volcano and other tourist spots.
