Can be your perfect location - I had a conference to attend and this was almost across the street and preferred to a hotel. Host was on point - all the little things were provided, no ticky-tack nonsense that can happen with rentals. At the end of the day, it's a 5 star to me because it was functional, clean and safe - plus little host provided perks. You will be almost on top metra/train, can walk to a lot & uber pickup all around. There's a few local & quality cuisine within walking distance, and tons of "touristy" restaurants, like Hard Rock. Hsu's is 2-3 blocks: best Chinese I've had in a long time.
Not used to city life? It might take you a minute to acclimate, lots of people moving around all times of day/night, get used to the homeless, poor, etc asking for help - not pushy, but too many to provide help to all unless you are comfortable giving more $ to one or two a day. It's a touristy area but not a tourist destination, per se, if that makes sense.
