Casa Uno really is a dream come true. We decided that one day we would like to have our own home in Andalucía. To keep us motivated my husband searched on the internet for a picture of a “Spanish Villa”. We found one we loved which we put on the office wall. Whenever things got tough, we would point to the picture and say that if we kept going then, one day, we could have a villa just like the one in the picture. When we were in a position to buy, we didn’t just buy a villa that was like the one in the picture – we bought the actual villa – Casa Uno !!! We had loved the house for well over 5 years without ever visiting it.
When we did visit for the first time, we knew it was the house of our dreams. The really nice part is that our guests feel the same. There are many things to do and the house lends itself to all kinds of holidays. For many, seeing the classic towns of Seville, Cordoba and Granada are the main reasons for staying at the house - the furthest is Granada which is a 2-hour drive. Throughout the region even the smallest places can boast Roman and Moorish remains. A personal favourite is Almodóvar Del Rio which boasts one of the most spectacular castles you will ever see - Game of Thrones fans will recognise it as Highgarden, featured in series 7.
For many staying at the house is enough. It is completely private and secluded allowing you to relax with your family without being overlooked. It is ideal if you have children as they will just love the pool, whatever the weather - although the pool is solar heated from about mid-April till October. Access to the pool can also be restricted for small children. There are plenty of places to sit and relax both in the sun and shade. The Moroccan dining area is a favourite - perfect for breakfast or a spectacular evening meal. The roof terrace has a relaxing seating area which can also be covered for extra shade, a sunbathing area and a large brick-built barbeque with its own dining area.
