Beautiful view of Crystal Lake!

Our host was very sweet and the property overlooked beautiful Crystal Lake. Had my morning coffee on the dock right on the lake! So peaceful and scenic.

beautiful and Tranquil

Very clean. A wonderful highlight was a book on the USA and Indigenous People. The lake was rowdy with the tropical storm, Nicole, but it was so wonderful. I would stay again.

Gorgeous Lake

Crystal Lake is an amazing lake and being able to stay right on it was special. Enjoyed swimming every morning and the Independence Day fireworks. I liked the Fiestaware dishes throughout and the vintage bathrooms. The shower water was delightful - maybe comes from the lake? Would rent again.

Nice for a short stay!

Nice property, but a lot to be worked on. Was good for the short stay we had. Some weird experiences with the sliding doors not shutting and not locking. A very spacious place for a two people, very nice living room and bedroom.

Reminded me of my childhood house. Quaint, dated tile and cabinets. Big bathroom sink in 1 bathroom with shower off. Tub/shower in 2nd bathroom No walking beach. We did enjoy staying here near our family

Owner/manager is great

The owner or manager was really helpful. We needed to stay another night, but the place was booked. She went out of her way to find us another place to stay with a neighbor who has a rental property. She didn't have to do that, and I really appreciated it. Check in was also a lot easier than other places we've rented. I never saw the actual property, so I can't really comment about that, but the management is really good.

Disappointment and very dirty!!!

Definitely was a disappointment!! Yes we stayed only due to it was a place for us to stay while we where out of town but the cleanliness was a disappointment for sure there where dead bugs throughout the house! The kitchen was dirty the freezer was full of old nasty food the fridge wasn’t clean there was dust cobwebs and dead bugs as well in the kitchen!! The kitchen was in my opinion not a place I would feel comfortable eating at all!! I do understand that the house is old so that I’m sure is why we got the old musty smell! I had to go out and buy candles to kill the odor of the home also I get that by a lake you get mosquitoes but not an infestation of them we couldn’t enter the home without getting attacked by them we had to go out and buy a mosquito fogger for the outside of the door so we could bring our stuff into the home!! The view is beautiful but the overall place was a true disappointment!! When you have guest coming I would think you would make sure the home was clean for the peoples stay so they can relax and enjoy but that was not the case at all!! Not to top it off there was not cable except for basic channels and even those would freeze! The bed was not made the sofa in the room had blankets and stuff pilled on top of it!! We over all where not happy at all this was a weekend getaway for my husband and I and we basically stayed gone away from the home as we couldn’t enjoy it like we wanted to!!!

Beautiful relaxing stay

I loved my stay. The view of the lake was beautiful. Inside, it was cozy and I had everything I needed. Would definitely stay here again! I had a wonderful time!

Misrepresented

We walked in and back out. The rooms appeared clean but there is a musty moldy odor. I have allergies and asthma and could not stay there because of health risks. The driveway has huge holes in it and the place is very old and not kept up. We contacted manager and she said she contacted owners but has not heard if any refund will be issued. The photos are taken very close up as to not show the wear of home. Of course smell is not mentioned and manager stated no one else complained about it. She said it could be from air conditioning or because of age of unit. My health trumped possibly losing Money.

Again I am sorry you have gone through this and the place smelled musty to you. It is an older home and the doors do stay closed up until someone rents it. The AC got turned down that afternoon so I'm sure there was still a musty smell from the AC being on 78 before your arrival. We let our cleaning crew come back in the next day and they did not smell mold or mildew. We asked them specifically. We also rented it after you and the woman absolutely loved her stay and there were no complaints at all. So again I really believe this was due to an old home and maybe y'all are not used to these type of smells for these older homes. As far as the driveway we are fully aware of that and that is mentioned in some of the comments. As well as the landscape of the property and how the owner enjoys her landscape.

Homey and private

We enjoyed our stay. It was a great home-base while visiting with family and friends. I liked the landscaping because it provided privacy. Although someone lived upstairs we always felt at home and comfortable. My favorite was sitting on the deck and enjoying nature. An updated table and chairs would really enhance the area, but absolutely beautiful scenery.

Outside pics misleading but inside great

The outside of the property was horrible and not kept up at all. Inside was cozy and clean. If you aren't worried about the outside, you'll be satisfied.

Thank you for your reply. Just to clarify the outside of the home does have overgrown bushes and trees. The owner does like a lot of these trees and bushes to stay on her property. The driveway does need repair which we are aware of that. I have mentioned this before in other comments for this VRBO.

Bring your lawn and yard equipment!!!

The inside the Apt was fine but the yards we’re like a jungle. The drive way was riddled with potholes and getting to the street was a gamble as view was blocked by overgrown bushes. Dock was dirty. I am surprised that Vrbo would allow such conditions. I will think again before booking thru this company.

Thank you for the feed back. The owner enjoys her yard and does like the way it is. She enjoys her plants. The grass was mowed and kept up to the way she wants it. She is also aware of the driveway and potholes. This is a rural area and not city life. Not to mention we gave you a FULL refund 3 days before your arrival because you wanted to cancel. We were suppose to keep 50% of that. We were very nice with that. Then you reserved again. The place is safe and clean. Sorry you did not enjoy your stay but thank you for your business.

Quiet Little Cottage/Apartment

The apartment was a cute gem from another time period. It was well furnished with the essentials. There are renter above in the main home so expect to hear children. The outside area (patio/yard/lake area) could use a little TLC but overall we really enjoyed it and plan to go again.

I thought this was a secluded place.family lives right above you.felt like i had to be quit all the time.no privacy.door would not lock.i left 1 day early due to lots of roaches and ants
