We thoroughly enjoyed Dana and her group at Fernwood! They were enthusiastic, careful and appreciative of the house and very clean. We would welcome them back anytime. Lynn and Run

Really enjoyed having Zach and Friends at Fernwood. They were very courteous and appreciative of the property and even though it snowed the day they came----they were able to get out to the State Park and to one of the wineries which they loved. They are welcome anytime at Fernwood.

We really enjoyed having this family at Fernwood and were delighted they chose to celebrate a very important birthday here. They were very considerate of the property and followed the house rules to a T. We would love to have them back anytime.

We thoroughly enjoyed Jill and Family at Fernwood. They were very friendly and outgoing and left the cabin in great shape. They also shared the bounty from their garden with us and Becky knitted me a beautiful dish cloth that is too pretty to put in dishwater, but I hear that they clean really well. Great Family. We loved having the Harry and Miller Families at Fernwood this weekend. They are very friendly, active Families and we especially enjoyed the fact they liked the competitive dart and corn hole games. They were a joy to have and very courteous and really took good care of our home. Would love to have them back for a longer stay. Lynn and Ron

This couple was a joy to have as Guests at Fernwood. They were just looking for a few days of R &R after a pretty trying year so we rolled out the "splendid isolation" of the Mountains for them to enjoy. They were courteous, quiet and took great care pf the property. They are exactly what you would look for as Guests. Marla and Ivey are welcome at Fernwood anytime. Lynn and Ron

Sandra and Mike were wonderful guests at Fernwood and were here on an important mission-----Mike ran the 100 mile endurance race at Ft Mountain State Park---which is a grueling 4 day run, and they needed a comfortable home to stay in nearby. We are delighted that they chose Fernwood. They were friendly, courteous, quiet, and followed the house rules to the letter. Nicer guests cannot be found in this business and that means a lot to owners. Happy to report Mike was one of only nine runners who completed the race and he came in 3rd. out of the 25 that started the race. I hope they come back again soon,--they are just the kind of guests that Hosts are looking for. Lynn & Ron

We thoroughly enjoyed having Sandra and her friends and Husband at Fernwood. They were courteous, friendly and took great care of the Home. The weather wasn't the best when they were here, but they all kept a positive attitude and enjoyed the covered deck for bird watching, and Cooking on the Big Green Egg. They really liked hiking at the State Park which is nearby and full of Beautiful Trails, Overlooks and History. They are welcome t Fernwood again anytime. Lynn & Ron

Thanksgiving is our favorite week to book at Fernwood because it’s one of the prettiest times of the year and it’s about Tradition and Family. We were very happy a family from Pennsylvania. booked this year meeting their Florida Family and Grandsons on the Mountain. The table was decorated in pumpkins and leaves and we set a Complementary Continental Breakfast for them in the Fridge. We were in Atlanta for Thanksgiving but when we returned, we had an email from our guest about not having hot water in the Guestroom bath on the main floor. We called them to get the details and told them we would try to get a plumber up here to solve the problem but didn’t hold out a lot of hope on a Holiday Weekend. Didn’t hear back from the plumbers so Ronnie went up to see if he could help the situation by changing the “No Scald” Shower Head that our government requires. It does cut the water flow too. Our guest told him it “was not a good time to do that”, so we went to Lowe’s, Ace Hardware and Home Depot and were told that the government requires that on all the shower heads they sell, but those "no scald" can be removed by a plumber. We further found out from our guest that the water was lukewarm, not cold, and was “very inconvenient for them”. I’m sure it was, and I don’t like lukewarm showers either, but up to this time, we’ve had no such complaints and it was just really unfortunate that it happened while a family was here for Thanksgiving. They also brought another family member, making it 7 people instead of the 6 they had said would be here. We didn’t mind that----she was family, but we usually charge extra for over the limit bookings, but we didn’t say anything because they had to tolerate less than ideal showering in the guest bath. We have ordered a new showerhead that can be fixed and puts out 2.5 gallons a minute. We have a plumber scheduled to come when the new shower head arrives to check the whole system. We strive for perfection and if our guests aren’t happy----we aren’t happy. Lynn and Ron

This was the most delightful family who were deep into Real Estate and rental properties themselves.. They were enjoyable and friendly and really embraced all Fernwood and the Mountain had to offer. They were very caring and considerate of the property and left it in very good shape. We would love to have them back anytime. Lynn and Ron

We really enjoyed this couple who were attending a Wedding of a Family Member at the Ft Mountain State Park which is only 2 miles away from Fernwood. They were friendly, candid. and very neat and clean with their care of the house, and followed the house rules to the letter. We thoroughly enjoyed having them and they will be welcomed back anytime. We Thoroughly enjoyed having Katie and her Family at Fernwood. They made the most of their weekend here with hiking, biking and paddle boarding at the Ft Mountain park. The girls loved the Fire Pit and Hot Tub too, and the youngest, who slept in the bedroom next to the Hot Tub Deck , asked Ron why we put the Hot Tub so close to her room. He told her, "So you could find it easily!" They were great visitors and cleaned up very well before leaving. They are welcome back anytime. Lynn and Ron

We enjoyed Sharon and her family so much. They were here to celebrate her Granddaughter's 10th birthday. There were balloons, posters, and a lot of fun. They asked permission before doing anything and really followed Fernwood's guidelines. They enjoyed all of Fernwood's amenities such as the fire pit, the horseshoe pit, the hot tub, darts, and cornhole game. They were very gracious guests and straightened up everything before leaving. They are welcome back to Fernwood anytime. Lynn & Ron

Steve and his group were terrific guests, they were enjoyable to be around and they were very personable and adventure loving people. They took advantage of the provided trip guides and made the most of their vacation experience. It was a joy to have them here and they kept the house clean and tidy, stripping the beds and putting all used towels in the hampers even though they left pretty early for the long drive back home. They will always be welcome at Fernwood and we would love to see them again in the future. Lynn & Ron

Barry and Krista and Family were delightful guests and Barry's Mom, Thelma was a lot of fun to talk to. They were looking for "cooler temperatures" and some R&R and I think they got it! Had to use blankets around the firepit. This is a fun, caring family and they did the cleanup better than anybody. We highly recommend them as excellent guests and hope they come back again soon.
