On the beach

The property is absolutely fabulous. Spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped and furnished with the added bonus of having a great outdoor space. The neighborhood was very quiet and tranquil in a short walking distance to the beach with stunning views. Cannot praise this stay more highly. Thank you Micky

Cute,Cozy, Clean, Beautiful vacation spot inside and out !

These owners have put much effort into their VRBO property ! The inside is spotless! Beautiful, clean and decorated with peace and tranquility in mind ! We were welcomed with a bottle of wine, glasses and a hand written note. With lots of windows, it’s always bright and cheery ! Cozy couch with Netflix options beside a pellet stove (we didn’t use the stove, but this is a great option as sometimes, with the ocean breeze, evenings can be a little chilly!). The outside is beautifully landscaped ! Chairs and places to sit outside too. The kitchen was fully equipped with a travellers needs in mind ! (Tea towels, paper towel, cleaning supplies, spices, cooking utensils, even Saran Wrap/tin foil). I highly recommend this property ! Oh, the owners were easy to communicate with and replied promptly if we had questions !

A quiet and cozy retreat

This is our second time staying here and can’t say enough good things about it. The decor is outstanding and all the little touches to make it feel homey! The home and neighborhood is so quiet and the beach is just a short walk away. Highly recommend it!

Couldn’t have been any better!

The apartment is beautiful, very well equipped and ideally situated for the long walks we enjoy along the beach and on woodland trails. There are also shops within walking distance for any last minute necessities. We were fortunate enough to experience the herring run which is quite the spectacle. This stay was the highlight of our 3 month stay on the island! We could easily have stayed longer than 2 weeks.

Great Getaway

Island Getaway

Fabulous garden suite in a beautiful location! Beautifully decorated with every detail taken care of. Extremely comfortable and an ideal location for island exploring. Owner is very helpful and responsive. A special gem in every way.

Bowser Beauty

Lovely property hidden away in Bowser. A great location to explore the island. It is even better than the pictures, has everything you need to enjoy your stay. Short walk to the beach. Mickey is a wonderful host. A place you would want to stay in again, which is our plan .

Excellent accommodation and location

The property was so comfortable and Yards from the rocky beach, where you could watch the ebb and flow of the tides and wildlife. The hosts were so welcoming and helpful if you needed them. The location allows you to head north on Vancouver Island and then to the venues such as Rathtrevor beach, a cheese farm and the farmer’s market at Qualicum Bech. The Qualicum waterfalls on the little Qualicum river were amazing as was watching the logging boats at Sayward. Our thanks again for an excellent place to stay and your welcome

Relaxing Getaway

Our hosts were wonderful to work with during booking and our stay. Property is modern, clean, and has everything you need. The beach is steps away and the view is perfect. Grocery Store (Tom's Foods) is a quick 2 minute drive and has everything you could need, and even closer is a liquor and convenience store (Georgia Park) for your snacks and drinks. Bowser is a great location for peace and quiet, and close to both Qualicum (20 mins) and Courtenay (30 mins). Would highly recommend this property and hope to be able to visit again soon.

Gorgeous suite with a lovely garden near the beach

So glad I rented this suite for my in-laws for a week. It was bright, spacious, clean and quiet … and beautifully decorated. We had dinner together there every evening and the kitchen was very well stocked. Bathroom has a nice tub too, for those who like a good soak.

Beautiful, accommodation

This lovely suite looked just like the pictures, clean, warm, spacious and inviting. We arrived on a rainy night and the space was warm, with the pellet stove glowing. This place was appointed with everything you could need. It is tastefully decorated with a coastal theme. There is an outside covered sitting area with bbq and fire pit, and a short walk to the beach. I would highly recommend this location.

Beautiful place to stay!

We were very impressed with this beautiful new apartment and would gladly stay again! Comfortable bed and linens, fully stocked kitchen, TV works well, and the pellet stove quickly warmed up the space. The beach is a short walk across the street and lovely at low tide and high tide. The hosts were very gracious throughout our stay. We gladly recommend this hidden gem to other travellers!

Bowser On The Rocks

Stunning - just as website indicates. We arrived & found a bottle of champayne chilling on ice, lights turned low, warm and cozy suite. Perfect end to a day on the road. Enjoyed a excellent 4 night stay.

Better that the pictures

Such a beautifully designed apartment with high end finishes and all you need for a comfortable stay. We were left with some drinks in the fridge and coffee and tea. Another nice touch was the assortment of spices. Lovely bedding and luxurious pillows. I asked Mickey where she got them and ordered four while I was there. The view of the back garden is very nice and it’s just a short walk to the beach. Looking forward to a return visit!

Beautiful property, in lovely location

This property is so beautiful, all brand new, very stylish, great facilities from the comfortable bed to the little pot belly stove, full kitchen and plush towels, I could go on. We especially loved the access to the kayaks, the beach was a short walk away and it was so wonderful to paddle around the coastline, we encountered seals, a sealion and plenty of bald eagles. There was a magic trail a short drive away and it felt like you were in a rain forest. We also felt the property was very private we only came across our hosts once where they provided some wonderful tips for the hike. Finally I cant thank the hosts enough from the goodies provided on our arrival and meeting our requests. Great stay thank you!

Hi! Sooooo nice to meet you! My husband Stafford and I were lucky enough to retire 2 years ago and make a "Life-Long" Dream move to Vancouver Island from Ontario. We bought this glorious home steps to the beach and feel lucky when we wake up every morning! Together with my daughter we designed and constructed what we believe is the most gorgeous suite EVER and were so excited for you to come see why our little slice of paradise should be where you begin your great "West Coast Adventure". We can't wait to have you make memories in our suite!

Huge boulders create the stairs to the beach which while rocky when the tide is high, is sandy (with gorgeous tide pools) when the tide is way out. Starfish, crabs, clams, silver dollars and beautiful driftwood can be found on our beach. Walk for miles in any direction, take endless photos of our stunning ocean and mountain views, and say hello to our resident seal, “Approval”. Spring time is herring time and quite the event to see as our bay is then full of fishing boats & the seagulls put on quite a show. Every year we have orca sightings in the spring and fall when they are migrating and every evening we see all the cruise ships go by.

Planning a fall or winter getaway? Then you need to know our cozy suite also offers a pellet stove – simply turn it on and Ahhhhh! The pellets feed automatically …within minutes you won’t believe the warmth it gives off and how relaxed you will feel!
Centrally located & considered mid-island, Bowser is big on scenery and full of small town charm. It’s the best location to see and experience all the sites on Vancouver Island. So hit the road ….rent a convertible, put the top down and choose a route that offers you some hiking, waterfalls, beaches, shopping, amazing restaurants or simply seeing how the locals live.
Hungry & thirsty? Be sure to try a “pirate Caesar” at our local ocean-front Ship ‘n Shore Restaurant located five minutes from us. Their specialty is clams and oysters supplied fresh from our oceans by Mac’s Oysters in Fanny Bay. For a quick lunch, you have to try our Tidal Taco Shack, also just .10 minutes down the island highway. By far the most amazing fish taco you have ever had and their ocean view is pretty amazing too! In need of a bottle of wine? Our liquor store is walking distance from your suite & so is the grocery store. Need a massage or pampering at the spa? Be sure to book an appointment for some pampering at King Fisher Spa – their outdoor swimming pool is heated year round and their onsite restaurant has the most amazing patio.
