The Cottage was WONDERFUL! Marie and Allen were super and created such a remarkable experience. We were there to visit family but see this Cottage great for a special weekend or as a quiet retreat. Can't wait until we can return!

I have been coming to Bluebird Cottage for 5 years. The place is immaculate and decorated so wonderfully. The kitchen has everything you need and the bed is super comfortable. The linens are the best! The area is so nice to explore and hiking just out the back door. I highly recommend this beautiful cottage. Allen and Marie are the best hosts- always there for anything you need.

Wonderful cottage

Marie and Allen have a delightfully decorated cottage, a real home away from home. The location is quiet and peaceful, yet only a few minutes away from access to some of San Diego’s best attractions: beaches, wineries, and wildlife park.

Attention to detail in the cottage and all the needed household supplies were appreciated. We enjoyed the beautiful property and the surrounding open space with trails nearby. Lovely, quiet neighborhood away from city noise and traffic, but close to shopping and services.

Spectacular Hideaway

My third trip to this great little getaway and I am always impressed with the ambiance, cleanliness and comfort. Marie and Allen think of everything. The area has so much to offer- great hikes, great food and close to so many small beach towns to explore. Will come back next year for my solo new years trip.

Where do we begin this was such a special experience for my husband and I. Alan and Marie make the check in process is so simple. The hosts are so amazing and make you you feel right at home. My favorite part of our stay was waking up and sitting out back with a cup of coffee enjoying the nature, and their gorgeous property. The cottage is stocked with everything you would ever need to cook with too. I highly recommend close to the beaches, stores, and a great place to get away and really vacation!

Cute little cottage

Allen and Marie are excellent hosts. We were in Vista for a wedding in San Marcos and this was not only in a perfect location, but also affordable. The cottage is a perfect size for 2.

Charming and comfortable

The Bluebird Cottage provided a wonderful place for us to stay while in town visiting family. Everything about the cottage is exactly as it is described, including a fully stocked kitchen complete with farm fresh eggs! The hospitality of the hosts is unmatched. We're looking forward to staying at the cottage on future visits.

Most gorgeous, detailed home!!! We loved every minute in this beautiful stay!!! They had everything you need there - such a perfect place to relax. The coffee and oatmeal was great!!! Definitely recommend this place, it’s perfect!!! We would love to stay here again. I loved knowing they lived nearby in case we needed anything. As if the inside wasn’t enough, outside provided the most serene & relaxing best of CA nature environment. her beautiful flowers, succulents, orange tree, & garden decor was such a delight. Hearing all the animals at night (owls, birds, etc) & in the morning was so fun. It felt like glamping if you didn’t close the windows or if you walked outside. I loved sitting on her recliner outside & watching a hummingbird fly over me & land in the most beautiful white barked tree. I didn’t want to leave!!!! Thanks for sharing your soul refueling place with us.

My sister and I had the most amazing time at Bluebird Cottage. Marie and Allen were the perfect hosts, providing everything we needed--and then some! The location is lovely and quiet and it was the perfect place for a much needed retreat from regular life. Thank you, Marie and Allen!!!

The property is charming, has a wonderful view, is clean, and has a well stocked kitchen: a few spices, several coffee choices, a Keurig and a French press, and lots of china and cooking utensils. The hosts raise chickens and we had fresh eggs every morning. The 'ladies' are a treat to watch and listen to, especially in the morning when having coffee on the terrace. The patio and deck are wonderful and frequently catch a breeze. The bed is vary comfortable, and the bathroom, while not huge, is more than sufficient. The overall decor is charming with a very definite French country feeling. The hosts responded quickly to several questions and are charming and lovely to chat with. The proximity to grocery shopping and a large mall area is 6 min away with a nice variety of stores to choose from. Downtown Vista is 8 min away. Downtown Carlsbad is about 15 min away as is San Marcos. The Vista library has an excellent used book store and prices are VERY reasonable and well organized. The property is at the end of a dead end street at the top of a hill and is large and private. This is a rental well suited for one or two people. We greatly enjoyed our stay and will consider staying here again. Thank you A&M.
