Overall a lovely property in which to holiday. Some words of advice though; be prepared for lots & lots of stairs/steps so a level of reasonable fitness & mobility is required.
Finding the property was a bit of a mission due to its location on a long stretch of a controlled one-way system, itâs very easy to drive past especially with how the locals drive - they are either tail-gating or invariably on your side of the road when cornering, very impatient & inconsiderate - Driving throughout the Amalfi Coast is not a pleasant experience & very stressful & I speak as someone who has driven throughout France, Germany, Holland & Belgium.
At the Villa Rosa, parking is fine but the property road has very tight corners as itâs built on a steep hill, the smaller the car you can hire the better for your own piece of mind.
Amenities on site are good with a swimming pool, laundry room all sited amongst bourghanvillia, olive & lemon trees.
The site manager (Mr Nicola) does not speak any English, so do brush up on your Italian. He is a charming & helpful man & on a couple of occasions gave us some fruit grown on the premises.
Our Appartanento Ulisse (No.10) was at the top of the hill so we benefited from the last rays of sunshine when the rest of the complex was in shadow, perfect time for sharing a bottle of vino.
Inside the property it was clean, tidy & basic.
The nearest place to walk to is Atrani, with Amalfi just round the headland. Atrani is small taking approximately 300 steps to get to but has a beach, small shops and various eateries. Just bear in mind the 300 steps back to the accommodation!
So, to summarise; lovely location, friendly & welcoming locals but be mindful of your fitness. We visited mid-June when the temperatures were mid-high 20s (perfect for us), but come high season & factoring in all the steps it would have been more challenging.
