It has the advantage of being very comfortable and spacious and therefore somewhere to stay for an extended period if desired. It has been equipped to allow you to cook up a feast, invite friends in to dine with you. With the apartment below sleeping a further two guests, it is perfect to stay with a group of friends. The house is in the centre of a beautiful historic medieval town with an abundance of restaurants and shops where you can buy food locally. With the addition of the pool it is a perfect place for a get away weekend. Derek and Amanda are resident on the top floor of the house for most of the rental period and are on hand to give you local knowledge and any further information.
With regard to getting around, Monpazier is a busy village with everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. However, this is rural France and there is no local public transport. A car is essential to explore the surrounding area.
Other things to note, the house occupies a central street location and although tranquil most of the time, guests may be subjected to the hustle and bustle of a busy village as it springs into life during the day. We are close to the main square and you may hear any musical events taking place there. There is no dedicated parking outside the house although there is plenty of space roadside nearby. We have tried where possible to retain original features including wooden flooring so from time to time you may hear movement on the floors overhead.
There is a second apartment on the ground floor, the top floor is occupied by your hosts. Amanda speaks french but Derek's french is limited but he can communicate with hand gestures and google translate.
