The layout of the house was perfect for our group of 7 girls coming together to celebrate a birthday. The house is in perfect proximity to a gorgeous beach, stunning trail, and the downtown area making it a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The different seating areas around the house made of a wonderful weekend of catching up! We can't wait to come back.

Will not disappoint!

Finding a place for our big family to gather, all in one location, was a dream come true. We filled every bed & every seat at the table & never felt cramped. There was plenty of space for everyone, even a quiet spot upstairs for the baby to nap. We did not lack for ammenities (note the huge washer & dryer), & even hosted family reunion dinner & an UNO tournament one night. Safeway & CVS are 5 minutes away, there's a fantastic Farmer's Market every Saturday, & a quaint little village just 10 minutes away. Be sure to check out HMB Wine & Cheese Shop & Abode. Walking access to the beach & bike path was awesome for the kids. We even had a professional photographer come to capture precious moments, like all the grandkids kids sitting in the humongous tree nearby. It met every need, ticked off every box!

Unforgettable Stay for the Whole Family

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful property in Half Moon Bay! The communication from the hosts, Gi’angelo, and Sharon was great. They made sure we were comfortable and satisfied throughout our visit, which really made us feel welcomed and cared for.The home was spotless and ready for us upon arrival. It was just a short walk to the beach, which was perfect for our kids. The sound of the ocean at night and waking up to it each morning was calming and peaceful, a true coastal retreat. The deck was a great bonus where we enjoyed the fresh ocean breeze and breathtaking sunsets.Inside, the space was incredibly roomy and full of natural light. The rooms were spacious and never felt cramped, even with our family of 8. We loved the fully stocked kitchen and large dining table that easily accommodated everyone for meals and game nights. Speaking of games, our kids especially loved the Connect 4 and entertainment setup provided by the owners!Another highlight was the beach-ready equipment and chairs that were available for use, such a thoughtful touch that made our trips to the beach even more enjoyable. The home's proximity to the downtown area was great, too we enjoyed exploring the charming shops and restaurants nearby.All in all, this property was everything we hoped for and more. We absolutely recommend it and can't wait to return!

Beautiful location and views

Overall our stay was wonderful we got to spend much needed family time. Nice big table for games and dinner but not much couch seating for large group. Also if you have toddler bring gates for stairs. But really this place is great!

Great location, tough management

The stay itself was great - the house is very close to the beach, as advertised. Parking with three vehicles was easy. The neighbors were very kind. My family had a great weekend.However, working with the management company ahead of time was difficult. There is a lot of nickel and diming. We had a very large group (though within the property limits) and had to pay per person on top of the advertised pricing. It did not matter if there were children or if we were using air mattresses. Checkin was pretty late (5pm, not industry standard). We could not confirm early checkin until a day before our stay and would’ve been charged 60/hr if we used it. We ended up foregoing it because of the hassle. It would’ve been cheaper to rent another close by hotel room for those additional 2 hours we needed. We had to call and confirm there would be enough beds for our group - I don’t know if we would’ve had the air mattresses/bedding we needed if we hadn’t done this. There was also an odd process for paying the invoice (not on vrbo), and a penalty if I paid twice (I received the invoice multiple times after I paid, so I wonder if this happens often). I don’t think I would rent this property again based on working with the management company ahead of time. It was a relief to be done with it. But it is beautiful and a great location. We did not need to use any of the amenities (kitchen tools, pay-for beach items), so cannot speak to that aspect.

Decent house for group event

Pros: * right by the beach, unobstructed view west across the dunes (there's an adjacent vacant lot on the corner that apparently sometimes has a mobile home parked on it); there's a bike/ped path parallel to the beach for a nice walk * good bed layout for 7; sofa bed not so comfortable for the 8th * excellent upstairs living room space with views, light, big deck * responsive management company got an issue resolved quickly Cons: * kitchen doesn't have a great layout, hard for 2 to work efficiently * kitchen is somewhat undersupplied - not enough serving and prep items and no storage items (wrap, foil). Lots of random sized pots. Minimal staples (whatever previous visitors forgot, by the looks of it). * mice got into food during the night. Can hear them in the walls. * furnishings - chairs & tables - feel flimsy & cheap

Great location, nice space, but needs improvement

Our friend group gathers annually in the Bay Area; this is our 2nd stay here. We enjoyed it 2 years ago and decided to return. The management company is very responsive and check in and check out processes are very easy. We enjoy the space, the peace/quiet and proximity to the beach and walking trails. We were unfortunately disappointed with the wear and tear we noticed since our last visit (some furniture was worn down) and lack of attention to details (2 of 3 hair dryers were broken (they provided a new one during our stay), only 1 kitchen dish towel, broken sliding door and screen door, loose bathroom towel bar, old refrigerator water filter). They said an RV would be parked on the adjacent lot but we didn’t realize it would be visible from the kitchen where we spent most of our time and block part of the view. But the worst part was evidence of rodents in the house. Some food was eaten and we found droppings around the house each morning of our two night stay. We notified management right away and they acknowledged the problem but not much could be done during our short visit. They called a pest control company to hopefully address the issue for future guests. We gave all this feedback, they acknowledged all of our input and apologized in particular for the rodent problem. They are responsive and attentive so we’re sure they will do their best to take care of these issues so that the “luxo” rental matches the price!

Disappointed

The location was great until a truck with a mobile home pulled up and parked the last 2 days and completely blocked our view and we felt unsafe. The owner said it was out of his control. It was right on the grass in front of the home. Kitchen utensils were not clean as well as cutting boards, can openers, etc. two of the bedrooms don’t have closets. No fans for some of the bedrooms and they were very stuffy. Mattresses don’t have box springs and were very uncomfortable. Stairs are very steep and narrow. Kitchen chairs are peeling and look dirty and nothing you want to sit on. Not the stay we were hoping for and would not book it again.

Great roomy place to stay. Within few yards of walking trail alongside the beach. Great view of the ocean. Excellent location to center of town with tasty restaurants , grocery and pharmacy. Would definitely stay here again

Lovely Stay

Lovely place to stay for our vacation. It was right across from the beach path that we used every day. It was also close to several parks for hiking. The kitchens were stocked with everything we needed to cook each night. There was a minor issue with a bath drain that was taken care of with excellent communication from the host. The three-bedroom side got chilly at night due to the space heaters needed, while the two-bedroom side has central heat and easily stays warm. It was a great vacation and a great place to stay!!!

Family summer gathering

We rented this property to spend time with family that was visiting from out of town. The location was dreamy and we had plenty of space for everyone to have a comfortable stay. Communication with host was very easy and efficient. This spot is definitely a hidden gem in half moon bay!

Great spot!

The house was awesome. Great for a large group. We didn’t want to leave! Was clean, exactly as advertised, and the hosts were easy to communicate with. Check in and out were easy.

Perfect location and great home for a family vacation!

Beautiful views, a very clean and comfortable home, fully stocked with all we needed! The deck was a great place to watch the sunset over the ocean. We rented both units (5br total between the two) and it was the perfect spot for our family of 6 adults (with some beds to spare!). We had a wonderful time and everyone loved the house. The hosts are terrific! Highly recommend this VRBO!
