We had an incredible stay at this beautiful and spacious manor house, which comfortably accommodated our family of 10. The architecture is stunning, and the original furniture feels like stepping into a museum—every detail is breathtaking. The kids loved playing pool, which kept them entertained for hours. The large kitchen and dining room were perfect for our private chef dinners, making every meal a special occasion. Clara was fantastic, providing thoughtful recommendations, and Kazimiro went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. This home was truly a highlight of our Portugal trip, and we can’t wait to return!

Wow…Amazing, stunning Villa !!!

The photos don’t do the Villa justice. We were all bowled over when we arrived at the size of the place. We were a party of 16 including kids and we could walk around without actually seeing one another st times. If you’re looking for modern then this isn’t the place for you but if you want something with character that is steeped in history then you’ll be hard pushed to find something better. The Villa sits in acres of its own grounds with massive lawn an swimming pool and a fantastic patio area with outdoor BBQ. The rooms alll have their own en suites and are of a decent size with ample space. Whilst there is no air con, the stone walls are so thick it isn’t really needed, though we did buy fans just to help cool things in the evening for the bedrooms. The area is quite rural but there are shops a 5min walk away and a little cafe and a restaurant. For the Big shop we walked to Lidl (about 25mins) and got Ubers or local taxi back. We also walked to the train station (20mins) to venture further afield to Porto and Guimares. You don’t need to go to the expense of hiring a car if you’re happy to walk a little. Clara was great from a host point of view, replying to queries quite speedily and was happy to answer any questions and help where she could re transport, taxis etc. Casimiro (Clara’s representative) was great and always on hand, although didn’t speak a word of English; he used google translate which was fine.

My family (incl kids from 7 to 2 years old) and I had a wonderfull time there! We would recommend it to everybody and want to go back as soon as possible !

Beautiful Villa Experience

There were 8 people in our Party and we were all happy with the accommodation. We had good enough wether for a couple of days to enjoy hanging out by the pool and the other days for touring to Porto and environs. The caretaker was very helpful with arranging taxis for our excursions, but we would highly recommend having at least one car at your disposal to get essentials and food. The supermarket is not an easy walk but a small corner store and lovely cafe are within walking distance. It was overall such a pleasure to be able to experience Clara’s lovely home!

Casa fantástica inserida numa zona muito tranquila, óptima para grupos/famílias grandes. 5* a nível de limpeza e equipamento, tem tudo o que é necessário para um óptimo descanso. O Sr. Casimiro foi a pessoa que nos recebeu e foi muito prestável, ainda nos ofereceu umas garrafas do vinho produzido na quinta.

Fantastic experience

Ten of us, mostly Australians, stayed in the house for two weeks in September 2018. The house was amazing - elegant but extremely comfortable. The caretaker was friendly and helpful and generous with supplies of vegetables and wine. We didn't have cars but found it easy enough to get around by train, walking and taxis to explore Porto, Braga and other places. On several days we preferred to stay in the house and enjoy its amenities. Lunch under the tree by the pool was a winner. A marvellous experience.

Außergewöhnlich schöne Villa

Sehr schöne, sehr gepflegte Villa. Haus ist über 300 Jahre alt und hält einige Überraschungen bereit, wie beispielsweise eine eigene kleine Kapelle. Stilsicher eingerichtet, schöne Architektur. Man fühlt sich 200 Jahre zurückversetzt mit den gewissen Landadel-Feeling. Wer es lieber modern mag, wird vielleicht enttäuscht sein. Parkanlage gepflegt mit sauberem Pool im Garten. Ruhige Lage mit weitem Ausblick auf die Umgebung. Freundlicher, hilfsbereiter, unaufdringlicher Verwalter auf dem Nachbargrundstück. Einzige Einschränkung: Ende April mit einer Kaltfront über Portugal (14 Grad Tageshöchsttemperatur) war das Haus sehr kühl. Das Heizen der Villa kostet pro Tag € 80,-!
