I wanted to wake up in Hawaii on my 50th birthday and I chose this lovely townhome for my special vacation. It was absolutely perfect for my family. Bennett the manager was there upon our arrival and he is a wealth of information on the island, besides being perfectly delightful and very sweet. This is a very large spacious home - we were 7 (4 grown-up and opinionated moms and aunties, two 19 year old teen girls and a 13 year old teen boy.) The bedroom layouts were perfect for our group, everyone had a place to sleep and the bathrooms were so pretty! The owners have decorated their island home with so many authentic touches, from the amazing artwork and photography on the walls, to the huge wicker pineapple which stores toys for the little ones! I loved the attention to detail! The beds were so comfortable. Usually there is always someone in a large group who has to complain about something, but there was NOTHING that we didn't like!!! We stocked up on food at Foodland. Sign up for the Makai card in order to take advantage of their discounts. You can walk over the to Queens Shops from the condo and enjoy dinner at Tommy Bahamas and some fine shopping. Also, on Mondays and Thursdays at 7, there is a Polynesian dance show, with pretty hula and fire dancers. It is definitely worth going and it's free! There is also beach equipment in the garage, like boogie boards, floats, sand toys, flippers, snorkels, masks, noodles and chairs that we used on various days down at The Beach Club. Because it was the busy holiday season, we tried to arrive by nine in order to get some of the blue cabana chairs for our group. The beach at the Club is gorgeous, white sand, fringed with palm trees, very chill vibe with mostly families. We rented kayaks from Dylan at Uncle Gary's Shack and had lots of fun paddling around. You can also rent snorkel gear, outrigger canoes and paddle boards as well as boogie boards. The owners were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about things to do and where to eat. We spent one morning down at Kiholo Bay enjoying the sea turtles and the beach. My sister was in turtle heaven -that is all she wanted to see on this trip, and boy did Kiholo deliver. We cannot wait to return to the Hawaii and explore more of the other side of the island - we would love to come back and make this our island home base again. I cannot say enough good things - it was the best vacation and the loveliest, most welcoming and comfortable home.
