We had a great time at Sunset Villa! The house was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped for our family of seven — four adults (grandparents and parents) and three kids ages 7, 9, and 11. The beds were cozy, the neighborhood was quiet, and the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking all our meals in.A few small things to note: the lower floor master bed was not a king as listed, which was a bit misleading. The bikes could use a tune-up, the exhaust fan on the deck wasn’t working, and the washer soap dispenser had a note saying it was broken — it would’ve been nice if that had been fixed. Some of the beach gear showed wear (a broken cooler and umbrella), but there was a backup umbrella, and we appreciated having the beach supplies available. A beach bag for toys and snorkel gear would’ve been a nice addition.Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and appreciated the thoughtful touches that made it comfortable. Sunset Villa is a lovely home in a great location, and we’d happily stay again!

We were on the island for our daughter’s wedding. The house was the perfect set up for our family and the location was convenient to all of the nuptial festivities. We appreciated all of the bike and beach accessories provided. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again.

Sunset Villa

Excellent floor plan, great gated development with fitness center, pool and beach club. Property was well maintained and between the property owner and property manager it was outfitted with all the vacation gear you would want and the property manager made the whole rental process stress free. We have rented a number of vacation properties and we rate this our best experience thanks to the property and property manager.

Beautiful property!

Everything was wonderful during our stay over Christmas. The home is spacious, comfortable, peaceful and conveniently located. We had four adults and two littles - plenty of space and privacy. The ensuites were perfect and the kitchen was well-appointed. We took advantage of the Mauna Lani Beach Club (perfect for swimming and Sunning with a bar/restaurant on site. We dined at the Fairmont Orchid Browns Beach House, the Mauna Lani Resort HaLani and Surf Shack, the Mauna Kea Manta, and other restaurants in Waikoloa Village. We used two of the bikes ( had to add air to tires, third adult bike had a broken kickstand and very flat tire). The pool in the Villages community was nice but we enjoyed the beach more. One of the showers had definitely not been cleaned - the management offered to send someone to clean it but we didn’t have them do that. Management was super-responsive and communicated regularly with us throughout our stay. Highly recommend this property on the Big Island.

Perfect Location - Lots of Amenities!

Our group of 4 stayed the week of 9/16 to 9/22. The home is stocked well, very spacious and clean. The beach chairs, ice chest, boogie boards were so nice to have! The snorkel equipment - not so great. Recommend renting some to use at the Mauna Lani beach club - which has GREAT snorkeling! Would stay here again.

Wonderful property!

Perfect family stay

The property is in a beautiful neighborhood and had all the comforts and amenities our family needed to enjoy a perfect week in Kona. The home is beautifully furnished, spacious, and well stocked with kitchen items, grilling equipment, bedding, baby gear, and outdoor activity equipment. Our family of 8 spent many happy nights grilling and enjoying the view from the lanai. We loved taking bike rides to the pool and nearby shops and beaches. Thank you!

Loved Hangin' out on the Lanai

We loved this place and would stay again. The home suited our family of 5 adults very well. Each bedroom had its own en suite bathroom. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very nicely appointed and clean. The provided linens were excellent, including beach towels. The two-floor layout was perfect for privacy but also for gathering as a family. The upstairs, spacious lanai was great and we enjoyed morning and evening relaxation time on it. The beach amenities, including snorkel gear, chairs, and umbrellas were a very nice addition, although one of the two umbrellas was broken (but somewhat usable). We had some minor maintenance issues that needed to be addressed - the remote for the garage door opener failed to work and the dryer failed to heat part way into our 6 night stay. The property management company was very quick to respond to our requests for maintenance. In fact, the dryer was repaired the same day that we reported the problem. Some of the instruction cards for the upstairs TV need to be updated as they refer to a Samsung remote control, which could not be found. Instead, there was a universal Spectrum remote which did not adequately control the TV functions. We gave up on using the TV - besides we were in Hawaii and didn't really need it! We enjoyed having access to the private Beach Club.

Beautiful home with lots of amenities to make for a very enjoyable vacation.

Windy conditions and an advancing brush fire made our last day both exciting and frustrating. Of course that had nothing to do with the house rental. Regarding the fire, management was quick to reassure us via email that Mauna Lani, being surrounded by lava, was safe from the fire. Communication prior to our arrival was good and provided all necessary info. Thank you to the owner and to management for making this a very pleasant stay.

We had a great experience with our trip. Everything was extremely easy and communication was always responded to quickly. Could not recommend this more. The house was gorgeous and so was the location. We had everything we needed and it made our vacation so easy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again in the future. Our first VRBO experience was 5 stars for sure.

First Family Hawaii Vacation

The process or renting was seamless. The communication from the property management group was more than adequate to ensure we knew what was expected during our stay. All of the beds were fantastic as well as all the other advertised amenities. Hopefully we will be able to book the same property the next time we head to the Big Island!

It's got everything you need to have a great time!

The house is super spacious and stocked with everything you need. We particularly enjoyed the extra surprise items like coolers, bikes and beach chairs. Thank you for the thoughtful extras!!

Spectacular Vacation

This condo was perfect for our family of four adults and two active boys ages 9 and 6. We cooked our meals everyday. The kitchen is well stocked although there could be some bigger bowls like pasta bowls or soup bowls. Would highly recommend this condo
