Peace of mind with pool and olive trees

We had a very relaxing and peaceful stay at Trulli Mario. The house and grounds are perfect. Everything in the house is easy to use and manage. The welcome by the agency was very nice and all what we needed was provided for. It is a very quiet place with a lot of Trulli, animal and olive/fruit tree farms but no humans. The Thursday market in Alberobello was a highlight of our stay. If you look for peace of mind, Trullo Mario is just what you need.

Lovely property but in need of some TLC

Trullo Mario was peaceful, in a lovely rural setting, with great outdoor space, a comfy bed and lots of character. I would have scored it as excellent but lots of minor things were wrong. The indoor shower sprayed water everywhere; there was no microwave (although it was advertised as having one); the tap in the bathroom sink only worked for cold water; three of the four bulbs in the dining room had blown (and there were no spares for us to fit); the internet didn't work when we arrived; there were no cushions for the lounger; the pool was full of leaves (nobody came to clean it as promised); and one of the outdoor chair cushions was covered in mould. These are all minor but suggest that the property needs a bit of maintenance and love before it is let out again. The company were reasonably easy to deal with and the check in/out lady was very friendly and helpful.

Very Nice Trulli in a beautiful countryside

Our stay in Trullo Mario was great: the Trulli is very nice, well decorated, and very cosy. It has everything you need for a confortable stay, the kitchen is well equipped, the two outdoor areas are perfect for breakfast/ lunch by the pool or BBQ at night. The garden, surrounded by a beautiful nature, with the swimming pool is fantastic. We spent a great week in Trullo Mario, and the location is perfect to visit the area: there are a lot to see in the small towns around. Fantastic place for a week of vacations in the area, and we will probably come back as we fell in love with Puglia!!

A charming trullo

Everything is as depicted... a cozy Puglian bungalow for two with functioning kitchenette, refreshing pool, Wifi, and privacy. Plenty to enjoy in nearby Alberbello and Noci, and interesting sights 1-1/2 hours away in Lecce, Matera, and elsewhere.

I have to say Trullo Mario turned out to be the most disappointing accommodation I have every booked and I have travelled in over 30 countries! In itself it is not terrible but it does not come up to the standards that it is advertised as. Firstly, the property is tiny and is certainly not suitable for 4 people even if two of them are children. The second bed is a pull out sofa bed that then takes up most of the living space. The bathroom is actually a wet room and the shower is hardly usable as the space is so small. You are literally standing next to the toilet to use the shower and anything in the room will get wet while you are using the shower. I understand that this is a very old building but it has not been well renovated. We have friends who live in renovated trullo in the area and they do not have any of the issues that this one has. Several of the doorway are so low that you have to literally crouch right down to get through them not just duck your head - including the one into the bathroom. All the furniture, which is advertised as 'antique' is nothing more than old (1980's? I guess) furniture that is all a bit tatty. The only set of draws in the bedroom are almost impossible to open and close, and there are no wardrobes or cupboards to hang clothes in. The music system is actually old enough to be a museum piece and has a cassette deck, and is not plugged in or usable. There is no TV or WiFi and all the crockery is very old, cracked and chipped and stained. The outdoor furniture is also all very old and the outdoor dining table and chairs are falling apart. The table is actually almost unsafe to use. From the outside this looks like a lovely quaint old trullo but in reality its little more than a prison cell inside. If this accommodation was advertised correctly and marketed at a fair price then there would be less of an issue with its current condition because you would no what to expect but it is not!

Fantastic! Highly recommend it! Beautiful location, very quiet, clean. Pool was fantastic on hot days. Helloapulia were very helpful. The local property manager does not speak English though so if you need anything call the head office

Lovely accommodation with beautiful garden and pool. Very peaceful setting. Would have been helpful to have some useful items on arrival, such as logs for the fireplace, local information (nearest grocery shop, etc) and a drying rack. The check in manager didn't speak English at all, so we couldn't ask questions when we arrived. He met us at a point in town and we followed him to the property, where he just left us without telling us where we were located, so we had to find our own way back to the town. Giving us a map of the area would've been helpful! All in all, we enjoyed our stay, but communication and helpful information from staff could've been better.

The trullo was in a lovely location and looked just like the photographs. The town of Alberobello and the surrounding area is stunning. There are lots of things to see and do in the area and great places to dine out. There is a cat that visits the trullo, that we fell in love with during our stay, she is very friendly and enjoys a tin of tuna. The only downside was that were quite a few insects around when we went in September, so make sure you take repellent!
