The location of this cabin was the best we’ve had! We come to Beech a few times a year for slope side cabins and this Cabin was by far the best location. Which made the status of the cabin (just older and out of date) feel worth it. It is just a few steps from the slopes and you can see the lift to lower Shawnee hall from the kitchen window.
I definitely don’t think 6 sleeps comfortably here. There is one king bed, one full bed, and a sleep sofa but the sleeper sofa is very small and thin. Luckily we only had 5 people so one person managed the sleeper sofa. The living room and kitchen have beautiful floor to ceiling windows with a panoramic view of the slopes but unfortunately the blinds let in a lot of light so the person sleeping on the sofa really wasn’t able to sleep well.
The heat is old and doesn’t work in all the rooms, we wished we had brought our radiant heater with us for the full size bedroom where it wasn’t working.
Bring some 9x13 pans or baking sheets if you plan on using them, the selection for clean good pans was slim.
Overall cleanliness was ok, the reviews of the musty old smell was accurate, and we had a dirty towel in one of the closets but nothing we couldn’t just ignore.
