We loved staying in this house by the river and highly recommend it! The location is in Tain l'Hermitage is perfect, with a beautiful view of the footbridge, tower and chateau, looking over toward Tournon, very picturesque. We enjoyed hours sitting on the deck watching the occasional barge go by in the peaceful setting. In addition to the deck, the first floor has a sitting area with the same beautiful view, which is great if the weather isn't suitable to be outside.
The house is very spacious, with 2 separate living areas in addition to the deck, a dining area, and each bedroom on a separate floor. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed, and we did cook dinner a couple of nights there. It was an added bonus to have a garage for the car.
Fabienne's hospitality was outstanding! She was extremely thorough in explaining the particulars of the house and very helpful making many recommendations for the markets, what to do in Tain, Tournon and the surrounding area.
A few recommendations - we loved having lunch at the restaurant (almost next door) Le Quai - and it would probably be super for dinner too. We had an excellent dinner at Le Tournesol in Tournon. We really enjoyed La Cite du Chocolat (Valrhona), and our tour of Cave de Tain, plus the Thursday brocante market and Saturday market. Patisserie Broyer in Tain is amazing, and although we did not buy one of the beautiful tarts, they make the best pain au chocolat and chausson aux pommes we have ever tasted. We loved the "baguette tradition" from Coquelet Thierry. We also visited Romans-Sur-Isere, Saint-Felicien for their market (beautiful drive and not far), and took the Train d'Ardeche through the gorges.
We had a fantastic time and loved this property! Merci Fabienne.
