The good: The house was gorgeous, with nice backyard views, ample parking, and towels for everyone (we booked for 17 people but only 12 of us ended up staying). It was in a quiet neighborhood cul-de-sac, which my friends and I appreciated. The space was adequately furnished, with matching bedding.Some minor things that showed the house needed some TLC: loose screws on the hallway vent, a broken window blind slat, broken cabinet and drawer inside the refrigerator.Some not-so minor things: one of the smoke detectors in the downstairs bedroom was low battery and alarmed loudly the first morning we were there, waking up everyone in the house. The host had provided batteries but they weren't the correct ones and were also stored improperly (loose batteries were in a ziploc bag). The water pressure in the downstairs bathroom shower was also very low, making for long showers.The bad: We found cockroaches in the microwave, and we found some crawling on the kitchen counter hours later. We noticed that the kitchen and stove area might not have been deep cleaned in a while. We couldn't prepare the food we brought to cook, which caused us to incur additional meal costs. We alerted the host of all our concerns and they did provide a partial refund upon request. We do hope that they rectify the infestation, because it is a beautiful home. We also let the host know we would mention the roaches in our review, to be transparent about our experience, from a public health standpoint.
