A lovely, spacious place to stay for our 6 days in Juneau. The location was perfect - near the airport and where our Alaska ferry arrived, and well away from the bedlam of downtown Juneau where up to five huge cruise ships arrived each day.

Love our tree house effect with this stay. It has just enough, is clean, comfortable. Eagles outside the window each day. Enjoy talking to the on-site owners. Good people and very accommodating. Our second stay and we will be back.

Juneau guest suite

The suite was very nice and clean, it was close to the ferry and close enough to town and amenities. We stayed for five nights and it was nice to have a clean, quiet place to stay after a day of hiking or other activities.

Best place I’ve ever stayed!

Awesome location and beautiful interior-could not ask for a more convenient and accommodating place to stay. Wish I could have stayed longer! The bed was the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in at a rental.

Wonderful experience

We loved the location and beautiful scenery. Nice location and very easy to get around to the events we had planned. Hosts were pleasant and took care of all our needs and wishes. Hope to be back and would love to stay there again.

Magical setting , quiet and private with beautiful kitchen , cozy master bedroom, fabulous spa and calming view of Auke cove. We loved our stay and the host was so nice and easy to work with during our stay .

Awesome Property

The property was absolutely perfect for our stay. It's secluded, but just a few minutes drive to town and all of the local attractions. The suite was well furnished and stocked with everything we needed. Theresa is so friendly, and an excellent communicator and host.

Perfect stay

This apartment is perfect. Full kitchen, with bbq’er off the front deck. Comfortable bed and lovely common area. It was close to town, but far enough to enjoy the wild of Juneau. Our host checked in on us just enough. We will be back. It was a wonderful home away from home.

Quiet and scenic

Just like it says, "secluded guest suite with private spa." What it doesn't say is how it feels to be in a place built from scratch by the owners. The context of this property, and the warmth and skill of the family that lives in the main house make this suite feel like more than just another VRBO. Check in was easy, checkout even easier ("Don't do anything - we'll take care of it.") In between we enjoyed a comfortable bed, a well-stocked kitchen, and an extraordinary bathtub spa (which was a bit complicated for us to figure out). But Theresa invited us to contact her for anything we needed. We also loved the location - away from the 10,000 people a day that arrived on the cruise ships downtown - 5 ships a day while we were there.

Beautiful wooded, private property. Nice open space with view to the woods. Heavenly shower tub jacuzzi bath combo. Floors seemed temp control because we were very comfortable without adjusting heat. Perfect for the two of us. Would stay again.

Lovely Auke Bay Cabin

My husband and I spent a week at this lovely, peaceful Auke Bay cabin. The beautiful view from the sitting room window is of the forest with a glimpse of the bay. The kitchen is well equipped, the sitting room is relaxing and the bed was very comfortable. The owners were very welcoming. The location is great for those who want to be close to Juneau, but avoid the crowds. I would love to stay here again.

10 days in Juneau

Excellent stay. Great property. The owners were friendly and welcoming. Visitor instructions were very clear. Fun and restful and a great place to have my sons over for dinner. Only one small pot, but we were able to borrow some so we could cook effectively. There was no laundry soap, so we called the property manager. She was not available, so we left a message and our number. We never got a return call. Other than that, the stay was pleasant and restful.

Idyllic!

Tommy and Theresa have created a very beautiful, comfortable, meticulously clean and private “tree top” home away from home. Nearly two weeks after my stay it’s easy to close my eyes and bring back the view of the trees and the bay from the windows, the sounds of the water from the nearby stream and the peaceful contentment I felt while staying here. So quiet and secluded you’d never know a post office, restaurants, shops, the airport and other amenities are only 2-5 miles away; and it’s only 14 miles to downtown. What an idyllic setting! While the photos posted are accurate, they don’t do justice to how charming the apartment is in person. The owners are friendly and gracious hosts, respectful of their guest’s privacy but available if needed. They did a wonderful job providing a variety of thoughtful amenities and information about the area and trails. Outside of a trip to the grocery store for food every need was anticipated and provided for. I enjoyed every minute of my time here and look forward to staying again!

Hillside Haven Guest Suite offers a relaxing get away in the Auke Bay area of Juneau. It has an enclosed steam shower with a two person whirlpool tub, full kitchen, an amazing view of Auke Nu Cove, a huge bedroom and radiant in floor heat. We are close enough that you can walk to the Alaska Marine Highway Terminal or Auke Bay recreational area. The suite is in a separate building with your own private entrance.
