Lovely

This is a beautiful property with lovely facilities. We stayed out of season, so sadly not all of the local attractions were available, but that was down to the time of year. The owners could not have been more helpful and the apartment was very well furnished with everything we could have needed. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We loved this place!

Had a great time. The unit was what we expected and very well stocked. Incredible views of the lake. Our kids loved walking around the grounds and the inside common areas. The unit was very well cleaned. We stayed five nights and would like to stay longer next time. Good central location for exploring the Highlands. The unit we stayed in was the Gruinyards.

Not the best experience

Fort Augustus is a very interesting little place, with cheerful restaurants lining the locks leading into Loch Ness. We had a lovely afternoon enjoying lunch, exploring the locks, watching the activity, and visiting with boat captains as they navigated the locks - and the drive to Fort Augustus from Glencoe was astoundingly beautiful! We did not, however, enjoy the Highland Club. Originally built as a military facility, it was later converted into a monastery, then into a boarding school - and finally chopped up into a series of vacation flats. I can only suppose that the architect who perpetrated this tragedy was a summer intern, as was the person who decorated the flat. It was cold and austere enough to satisfy even the most repentant monk - clearly a speculative investment property in which the owner has no personal interest. It needs someone who loves it to add any spark of life: some pictures on the wall, some books or bric a brac - anything to give it warmth. As it is, though, we regretted our two days there.

Excellent!

The Glenlivet apartment was perfect for our stay for 4 women. The Highland Club grounds and the architecture of the monastery are amazing. Highly recommend this location. Loch Ness is truly a magical place.

Family holiday in Scotland

An amazing experience. Wonderful setting on the banks of Loch Ness and a delightful town at Fort Augustus. My son and his family joined us from America and they were impressed. The conversion of the building was very sympathetic. We all had a lovely week. Thank you.

Beautiful, well equipped property!

This property is in a beautiful Abbey in a wonderful location on the Lochness. It’s an easy walk to restaurants and shops. The property has everything you need and is clean and welcoming with unique architecture. We truly hope to return!

Family vacation

One of the most picturesque places we have ever stayed!! Within walking distance to everything in town. A lot of stairs but the apartment was clean and comfortable. We loved our time here. The staff was more than accommodating as we arrived very late at night.

Built in 1876, The Benedictine Abbey that's now home to The Highland Club is one of the oldest buildings in Fort Augustus and one of the most stunning buildings around Loch Ness. For many years, Benedictine Monks ran the Abbey as a school. There are many recorded sightings of the Loch Ness Monster by the Monks over the years whilst they stayed there.
The Highland Club is just 40 minutes from Inverness and Inverness Airport, making it convenient to fly for a rejuvenating weekend break.
